Year Of The Beard
Every year has a number of characteristic trends and 2011 was no exception. Visually speaking the trend that seemed to be the most prevalent was the beard. You can argue who started the trend among porn stars (and in what year) and who did it best but it sure seemed as though beards were popping up in some of the most interesting places.
Who could have predicted some of the year's hairy faces? Did you ever think that Sean Cody would ever feature a guy with a beard? Yet sexy fan fave Ethan grew one AND kept it & another SC model Pavel did it too. Reese Rideout with a beard? Yep, it happened briefly too.
The beard trend also brought a view fans out of the closet and the vocal appreciation could easily have contributed to a few guys going all the way or starting up a beard.
Colby Keller, Tommy Defendi, Spencer Reed, Shay Michaels, Aybars, D.O., Damien Stone, Paul Wagner, Danny Harper, Heath Jordan, Tom Wolfe, Bruno Knight, Ben Brown, Alex Marte, Wilfried Knight, Bob Hager, Hunter Marx, Alessio Romero, Harley Everett, Marco Wilson...the list goes on and on. How many of these guys (and others) can you name & spot in these pics?
Lastly, a special mention goes to Samuel Colt who showed some creativity to his beard-growing this past year. He often shaped & styled his beard in a variety of ways from full beard to goatee & places in between. And, as we mentioned in a previous post, he was one of the very few (if at all) who gave the much-maligned mustache a spotlight. Could this be the trend of 2012? If so, you might thank Mr Colt.
