Class Comics At Bent-Con..
We have another Bent-Con update! This one from Class Comics is so big that it warrants TWO posts. That's because in addition to Class Comics giving details on its Bent-Con schedule they've also released a HUGE anthology, Heroes With Hardons from Bruno Gmunder (details to follow)
As you regular readers know by now on Saturday & Sunday December 3 & 4 the LGBT comic convention Bent-Con takes place at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in L.A. Class Comics will be there represented by co-publisher & writer Robert Fraser and in a very rare appearance writer-artist-publisher Patrick Fillion! The guys have put together their con schedule with some very exciting details that just make attendance even more imperative.
At the Class Comics booth Patrick & Robert will be there to sign comics, meet fans & talk about their line of comics--as well as give away lots of free stuff. There will also be TWO previously unreleased Class Comics titles available for purchase. These two "mystery" titles won;'t be out until 2012 & are exclusive to Bent-Con--so attendees will get to see & buy them first!
If you're not just a fan but an artist or colorist Patrick & Fraser will also be reviewing portfolios! So if you've got stuff to show, bring it! It's a great opportunity. They're always on the lookout for talent. In fact Class Comics is currently looking for an artist on what's called a "key project". Keep in mind that although Patrick & Fraser are happy to review portfolios there is a limit of 10 minutes per review to give everyone a chance for a review.
As we mentioned there are panels at Bent-Con & Patrick and Fraser will be participating in a few of them. The list of panels hasn't been confirmed yet but Patrick is confirmed to speak at the "Erotic Comics on Paper" panel at 12 PM Saturday December 3rd.
What comic con would be complete without a costume contest? Bent-Con is no exception and Fanboys of the Universe will be sponsoring the "Costume Catwalk" on Saturday, December 3, 4:00PM. Patrick Filllion will be one of the official judges along with Zan Christensen (Northwest Press) and Johnny M (Fanboys of the Universe). Brian Andersen (So Super Duper, Friend of Dorothy) will be the MC. Class Comics is inviting all their fans (really they're challenging fans) to make the effort and dress up either as a Class Universe character or ANY pop culture character. And yes there are some fab prizes!
Naturally there's more to Bent-Con than this but this should give you some idea of how major this is going to be.
