Cybersocket Web Awards Nominations Now Open
The nominating process for the 12th Annual Cybersocket Web Awards in now open! Yes it's that time of year again when you can nominate your favorites in 20 different "Surfer's Choice" categories (go here). On the online nomination form you're also left with room to nominate up to two sites for as many categories as you want.
The nominating process (which includes the "Industry Choice" categories) goes from now until October 2nd. Then after the results are tabulated you can vote online for the official nominees. That goes from October 24-December 4 with the awards being held in January 2012 (with a date, time & location to be announced).
The list of "Surfer's Choice" categories has been streamlined this year and new categories added in the process. The Best Asian, Best Black, & Best Latin sites categories have been eliminated in favor of a Best Ethnic Themed Site category. There's bound to be some grumbling about this so depending on the number of sites that are nominated and how many times they are nominated this category might get split up again. Also gone are Best Massage Site, Best Amateur Video Site, Best Megasite, Best Original Theme Site, Best Reality Site, and Best Voyeur site. The Best Video Company Site category has just been renamed as Best Video Site.
New categories this year are Best Sex Scene & Best Newcomer. This first category includes scenes released on DVD or online. In the latter category there isn't any guidelines ("A new artist or performer who has emerged as a force this year") so it can include studio or online newcomers.
