GAYVN Awards 2010..on Showtime
Almost a year after taking place, at midnight tonight Showtime will air the 2010 GAYVN Awards hosted by Alec Mapa. It's the first of multiple showings of the awards show: Showtime will air it nine more times through July (see above), late at night & in the middle of the night. In addition it will be made available on demand from July 13 to August 9.
The GAYVN Awards show has been edited down to 55 minutes but the "fleshtivities" (Showtime's word, not ours) are supposed to include the red-carpet interviews, the prison-theme dance number, Top Ten Awards--as well as the regular awards presentations. Sounds like if you blink or sneeze you'll miss something! We'll have to wait & see.
By the way, what's up with the next GAYVN Awards? Last year the awards were delayed and included as part of Folsom Street Fair Weekend. There's been no word so far which obviously doesn't bode well for this year. Maybe they're working on bringing it back early next year when it used to be held and it will include the last half of 2010 & all of 2011.
