Grabbys Awards 2011
One thing is for sure: there were plenty of surprises in the results of this year's Grabbys Awards! If you haven't seen the list of winners, go back to our previous entry and you'll see what we mean---we'll have more commentary about the results coming up. As we mentioned before several attendees posted the results (and some of the show details) as they happened so we could present the results to you and give you some details about the show.
As promised we also have a few news items related to this weekend in Chicago. What with all the events going on and more porn industry people using Twitter & the related photo-sharing sites there is a lot of stuff out there to see & read. Chances are if you follow even just a few stars you'll find much to see & read.
The Grabbys Awards were hosted by Chi Chi LaRue & Honey West with porn star co-hosts Tony Buff, Shane Frost & Dean Monroe. Ironically, and somewhat prophetically, these three also took home awards or were in award-winners. Shane Frost won for Best Solo & Hottest Cock, the latter being the same award Tony took home last year. Dean Monroe was inducted into the Wall of Fame and Tony Buff accepted for Best Fetish Extreme movie (for which he co-directed & starred). Tony also tweeted some exciting news: he will be directing the fourth season of Golden Gate for Naked Sword! We can't even begin to imagine the possibilities!
By the way this year's Trophy Studs were Eric Austyn, Billy Byron, Dante Escobar, & Phenix Saint. Yes, they hand the awards out and act as eye candy for the audience. These studs are always an interesting bunch because they're always seems to be at least one who becomes a breakaway star. One humorous note about Phenix Saint. His agent Howard Andrew (Fabscout) was tweeting during the show that he wanted Phenix to stop chewing gum on stage. Twitter turned out to be a very fast communication service because word traveled fast & Phenix took his gum out! By the way, congratulations to Howard for winning Best Non-Sex Performance. He was trying to act nonchalant about the possibility of winning but he was sincerely overwhelmed by all the congratulations he subsequently received.
After the intros of the co-hosts Jayden Grey & Brandon Wilde presented the Hottest Cum Scene Award. As you have heard Jayden has retired to go into legit acting & modeling but he still is involved in the porn scene--as witnessed here. By the way did anyone mention the irony of putting these two buddies together who once got into a fist fight? Samuel Colt accepted on behalf of the cast of Crotch Rocket and it wasn't the last time the super-hot star would be up on stage.
Some of the other presenters included Drew Cutler & Cavin Knight; Sanuel Colt, Derrek Paul & Chris Porter; Tommy Defendi; Jake Lyons & Wilfried Knight; Race Cooper; The Bel Ami Boys; Anthony Romero; Diesel Washington & Donny Wright; Riley Price; Marcellas Reynolds (Big Brother); Jeremy Bilding.
Incidentally this was the first appearance by Bel Ami in the 20 year history of the awards. Good timing too...the studio took home three awards! They guys struggled a bit with English, as expected, but it took some time to figure out the winners they announced. The even bigger news was that this week Fleshjack announced that Kris Evans, Dolph Lambert, Jean-Daniel Chagall, & Kevin Warhol are the new Fleshjack Boys! Pics were leaked of the guys getting "molded" and Fleshjack made it official this weekend. By the way, this is not to be confused with the Fleshjack Boys online voting going on right now with the Next Door Studios guys.
As the evening wore on those we followed on Twitter were getting a little restless and the details of the show were getting increasingly sketchy so that there were a bunch of awards winners we didn't know until the morning after. It didn't helped that at one point in the show a handful of awards were announced in one bunch & very few people tweeted even just a few of those results.

We had a lot of fun at this years awards. VERY excited Next Door won Best Original Content and Best Pornstar website for MarcusMojo.com! As well as one of our photographers is Photographer of the Year! A great night indeed!
