Countdown To The Grabbys Pt 2
As a reminder Zach Sire of The Sword is posting his predictions for the Grabbys and you can find the second part of his series here. Zach professes that his accuracy rate is "guaranteed" to be low, but that remains to be seen.
Best Still Photographer. Don't think still photography is important to studios & websites for marketing? Take a look at some of the names that companies have hired to help promote their product. All of these nominees are exceptionally talented and in some cases like do double duty as directors. Since we don't have any predictions we'd rather take the time to post the nominees again: Ted Buel, Dominic Ford, Gio, MickHicks, Brian Mills, Greg Cloud, Major Woods, Joe Oppedisano, & Kent Taylor.
If it's true that more people are watching their porn online & not buying DVDs you would assume that a category like Best Box Cover may soon be obsolete. However, hard copies of movies will probably still be around in the future & the need for cover art or simply a movie poster will still be needed. As for this year's nominees if we were a judge we'd probably vote for covers we remember such as Crotch Rocket & Hot Sex.
In the Best Art Direction category the nominees all did a great job of transporting us to a different place & helping to make some of the stories believable. Going by what we found memorable we'd have to it narrow our choices down to Arab Heat, Brutal, & Getting Levi's Johnson.
In the category of Best Videography there are several names that keep popping up, specifically Adam Killian & Brad Austin. The two have even worked together on the same movies & thery have similar styles--intimate but non-intrusive. If we're to go by past winners & what we think are this year's favorites we think the award could go to either Adam Killian & Steven Walker for Raising The Bar or Tony DiMarco for Brutal---or both.
If you like movies with stories & dialog there was certainly an interested assortment to choose from in 2010. Of the eight nominees in the Best Screenplay category, there were two movies that stood out for us: Brutal & Getting Levi's Johnson. You really couldn't have two more dissimilar movies--one a fight-themed drama, the other a sex parody. All the hot sex & dramatic intrigue were all woven together nicely by Tony Dimarco in Brutal while Chris Steele put together a pitch-perfect parody. We should also give special nods to Raising The Bar, & text, lies & video with screenplays by Jason Sechrest & Don Mike, respectively. These serialized sex dramas kept us guessing and wound up being lots of fun to watch.
Lastly, there's the
Coming Up: the performer & individual scene awards
