Summer Heat: The Review
Director John Bruno has made something of a homage to classic gay porn from the '70s & early '80s with Summer Heat but it's not a period piece nor is it a parody. It merely gives you the impression of a simpler time in gay porn history when there seemed to be endless summers filled with sexy studs meeting on the beach and getting it on. However this is definitely a modern gay porn movie with some of Falcon's hottest stars in distinctly modern style porn scenes. Summer Heat winds up being both fun & super-hot and worth watching no matter what the weather is like outside.
This retro feel in Summer Heat can be seen right away during the opening credits set against softly-hued sun-kissed shores and the way the first sex scene is set up. Cute Tucker Vaughn walks up to surfer Parker London as he sits at the shore, gazing out at the ocean. Tucker sits right next to Parker and they exchange no word--just smiles. Just like that they head inside to a beachfront house and make out on the bed with a gorgeous ocean view behind them. Had this been an old movie there would have nothing but a dubbed soundtrack and no audio track with dialog. Bruno could easily have done the same thing here but you would have missed the real moans and groans and sex talk between these two guys. In fact all the other scenes in Summer Heat have this hot dirty talk which spices up any scene when done right.
On paper the pairing of tall & tattooed Parker London & shorter & leaner beach boy Tucker Vaughn doesn't sound like a good match-up but it IS on film. They're very oral and seem to be really into each other. Tucker has this sweet & broad smile that just never seems to go away--and it gets especially big when Parker tops him with increasing intensity. If you're a fan of either guy you won't be disappointed. Both e very physical although edgy Parker London is a bit more vocal and in his signature style he really conveys the depths of sexual pleasure.
The second scene in Summer Heat features Lucas Knowles & Cameron Adams as two horny dudes obviously out cruising along the beach and who bump into each other at a semi-secluded spot near the shore. Now, Cameron Adams seems to be doing all the vocal work here and he does it well but quiet & handsome Lucas Knowles provides his own highlight: a whopper of a cumshot that practically coats Cameron's torso.

Ultimately Summer Heat works because director John Bruno keeps his overall theme without making his scenes redundant. Obviously featuring a different match-up in each scene is helpful but the structure and content of each scene is also very different and THAT is what makes this a success.
