L.A. Zombie Is Coming!
L..A. Zombie is coming! We got word this week that Indie filmmaker Bruce LaBruce's controversial gay zombie porn flick is coming to DVD this November and TLA Video will exclusively have the complete & unedited hardcore version. This exclusive version contain 40 minutes of hardcore sex not found in the theatrical film festival version and actually very few of you probably saw ANY version of this totally far-out movie.
Last summer we wrote about L..A. Zombie (see here) which filmed here in Los Angeles with Francois Sagat, Adam Killian, Andrew James, Eddie Diaz, Erik Rhodes, Francesco D'Macho, Matthew Rush, Rocco Giovanni, and Wolf Hudson. Sagat stars as a homeless schizophrenic (who may or may not be an alien zombie) who wanders the streets of looking for dead males to bring back to life through sex. At least that's what we THINK the movie is about. It's got blood & gore and hardcore sex with what TLA calls "all its black-semen-squirting, gaping-wound-gory glory." You might have heard that this bizarre and purposely fucked-up has had a notorious post-production history. It was originally going to be released as a soft-core indie feature and then as a gay porn flick later. It had a sneak preview in January of this year in Berlin as part of a film exhibit L.A. Zombie: The Movie That Would Not Die. Then last month it screened at the Locarno Film Festival and was to be followed by two more screenings at the Melbourne International Film Festival in Australia. However, the Australian film ratings board toward the festival organizers that because the film would likely not get classification they could not screen it. Leave it to the Melbourne Underground Film Festival, which held an illegal screening of L..A. Zombie a few weeks later.
We haven't seen L..A. Zombie but we do know a few details. It really is a starring vehicle for Francois Sagat and apparently it features very little dialog. In addition to the porn stars listed above the movie also features Tim Kuzma, longtime LaBruce fave & friend model/actor Tony Ward, & Santino Rice (Project Runway). According to one of the reviews at TLA the big scene is the "porn star massacre" with Killian, Rhodes, D'Macho & Rush. It's got lots of blood, sex & gore & the fetish wear from Slick it Up!
