Here's a Friday news items that seems to have come out of nowhere: today the GAYVN Awards announced that for the first time in its history they have added four fan-based categories. They include Best Top, Best Bottom, Best Versatile & Overall Fan Favorite. Confused?  Join the crowd because this has taken everyone by surprise. After paring down categories and nominees GAYVN will present "performer-oriented honors based on the voting of gay porn fans".  That's right fans will be able to vote for their favorites starting now. 

 At first there was only one award this year based on fan input and that's the Personality of the Year Award and there was no indication that there would be any more added---even as late as Wednesday when the GAYVN Awards nominations were announced. Ironically today Friday the 20th was supposed to be the day of the nominations announcement. We have a feeling that there was a lot of fan input (read: uproar) when the categories were first announced a few months ago and that GAYVN spent much of the time trying to figure out a way to add more categories and satisfy fans. That could be why the nominations were delayed and would explain the addition of more categories this past Wednesday.

 The upshot is that many popular performers (but not all) that were left out of the GAYVN nominations are now represented in thse new "fan favorite" categories. In addition the list of nominees is quite long. Chi Chi La Rue said it best on Twitter: "I'm so happy GAYVN is doing FAN FAVORITE. That's what keeps us going is the Fans". To vote go to GAYVNAwards.com. If you're a true fan of any of the men listed here it's time to show it.
