Jocks Road Trip Series
As we make our way around the newly designed Falcon Studios membership site we continue to be impressed with it---from the way it looks and functions to the vast amounts of new and archived videos and pictures. The process of looking around Falcon Studios has been fascinating for us both in our capacity as Jack Manly and as fans. We've rediscovered some classic scenes & movies from days gone by and reacquainted ourselves with some of our all-time fave performers. And you know what? Film stock, video quality, hairdos & fashions may
change but true classics are timeless.
At the same time we're discovering a lot of the Falcon brand that we haven't had the chance to see or might have overlooked. So, from time to time we'll be spotlighting some of the videos and personalities that will be of interest to you. This time our focus is on the Jocks Road Trip series which has been going on since 2007 and has spun off into a new series Layover Los Angeles--the first part of which we'll be reviewing next time.
Jocks Studios has actually evolved over time to become the niche brand associated with younger models & performers. You can see as much when you look at many of the titles from the studio that precede these current series.
The Jocks Road Trip series is pretty straightforward stuff: "No story. Just an RV cruisin’ around with studs brought together for pure in-your-face sex. The sexual chemistry is so hot and the tension so fierce. The road trip to end all road trips? Nope. Just the fuckin’ beginnin’!" The trips themselves are shot on location throughout California (and sometimes Nevada) and each trip (there are 15 total) features a different cast of performers. When we took a look back on the entire series of Road Trip DVDs we found many surprises---mostly in terms of cast members who have since become stars and become associated with other studios & genres.
A few things to note about the way the videos are set-up & shot. There's a semi-documentary camera style here that mimics the MTV reality show genre. An off-screen voice interviews the guys, very much in the same realistic style that online video sites interview their new performers. The guys do go out & about at their various stops and have sex in a variety of places--from inside the RV while it's driving to outdoor spots.The guys are paired up in scenes but there are also group/orgy scenes in every video. Lots of bang for your bucks.
Road Trip Vol 1: Russian River. Yes, this Northern California recreation & tourist attraction near SF does have a gay area which is where the "jocks" first descend. What a cast too. Luke Riley, RJ Danvers, & Wolf Hudson almost look like innocent twinks---far from the kinky performers they have become. There's also James Hamilton, Nicholas Lockwood, & Riley Burke.
Road Trip Vol 2: Santa Cruz. This used to be known as a hippie area and was the setting for Lost Boys. Some familar faces but most notable Mario Costa & Guy Parker--both of whom are still working.
Road Trip vol 3: Yosemite. Several of the guys in this one are familiar to us but we're not if any of them or still in the biz.
Road Trip Vol 4: Big Sur. Dramatic location with another entirely different cast including Shane Erickson, Tristan Phoenix, & Orlando Dawson--all three of whom seem to be active.
Snow Trip vol 5: Big Bear. The action moves to SoCal and the ski resort area near LA and the title is altered slightly to accommodate the change. The only guy that we recognized here is Shane Frost. So surrised to see that he's been around this long.
Road Trip Vol 6: Temptation Ranch. A real gay resort in central CA that has served as the setting for a few porn flicks. David West, Lee Stephens, Nick Cross, Ridge Michaels, Wade Wilder are the names we recognized --a very diverse cast.
Road Trip vol 7: Napa Valley. Woo hoo! Wine country. Cameron Adams, Cody Springs, & Kameron Scott are among the young jocks here and we have to say Adams sure looked innocent here.
Road Trip Vol 8: Palm Springs. You should all know of this desert resort town that has often appeard in porn flicks. Aden Stone, Jeremy Lange, Kevin Cavallie, Mason Ross, & Scottie Brooks are featured, several of whom are fairly prominent today.
Snow Trip vol 9: Lake Tahoe. Back up north into the snow we go---good thing they weren't really taking the same cast around every time--they'd sure to catch cold from change in climates! Blake Hunter, Giovanni Summers, Karter James, Krys Perez, Richie Sabatini are among the names. Again surprising to learn Krys isn't that new.
Road Trip Vol 10: Las Vegas. Yeah, Vegas baby. Conner O'Reily we recognize along with Dante Fox, once known simply as Dante at Corbin Fisher & most recently in a Titan movie!
Road Trip vol 11: San Francisco. Lots of newbies here including Jessie Swift & Krist Cummings. Interesting that the setting here sometimes looks & is shot so much like an old Falcon flick.
Road Trip Vol 12: Lake Shasta. Way up north and usually associated with a snow-covered mountain peak. Jake Woods, Patrick Kennedy & others.
Road Trip vol 13: San Diego. Several of the guys here are among the more prominent "twink" performers: Dex Carter, Jake Lyons, Jeremy Fox, Larkin, Sebastian Keys all who have done movies elsewhere & on websites.
Road Trip Vol 14: Hollywood. Jake Steel & Damon Audigier are among the playing tourists among the stars --the stars on the Walk of Fame that is.
Snow Trip vol 15: Reno. Parker Perry & Tony Douglas & the guys are all from different parts of the country for this last installment.
