It's Calendar Time!: Colt Studios
Yes, it's that time again when studios, websites, and publishers are getting ready to release next year's calendars. First of all, it's interesting to see that lots of calendars are still being published when so many books and periodicals have gone digital. At least when it comes to male erotica it seems the printed version still has consumer value...so far. Next year may be a whole other story as more people purchase iPads and other similar devices so we'll just have to wait and see.
During the next few weeks and beyond we'll be spotlighting many of these calendars that should be of special interest to followers of male erotica & gay porn. We start off with that long time favorite Colt Studios which has such a wealth of material in its archives that it could put out a ton of calendars and not duplicate anything that's been published before.
So far there are six Colt calendars scheduled for next year that cover pretty much the gamut of muscled men & jocks that you'll find at the company in books & videos.
Colt Men is your basic Colt calendar that looks like it features men from all of the decades that the company has been around and they're all pretty timeless. Compare guys like Doug Perry & Danny Drake and you'll see what we mean. Speaking of Perry he mostly did bodybuilding competitions and and since retired from that profession. However we saw a recent pic of him and he looks fantastic.
Colt Leather. The leather calendars have always been one of the studio's best assets although the company hasn't really done many films in this genre. Again you get that timeless quality with this calendar, even by the cover itself. Carl Hardwick is one of those faces that you almost immediately think of when Colt comes to mind. And, as we have mentioned before he's still competing in bodybuilding!
Hairy Chested. No matter what the trends in "manscaping" Colt has always had this calendar and a number of current models to fit the bill. In fact most of the hairy chest guys in this 2011's calendar are guys from today. One of the exceptions is super-hot Steve Kelso, another Jack Manly all-time-fave. Current JM fave Nate Karlton graces the cover and he's in good company.
Colt Jocks. This calendar refers to that article of clothing that takes a certain type of man to wear well. Again, most of the guys here are recent or current models but there is Pete Kuzak on the cover and inside. He's another manly man who epitomizes the Colt ideal and whom we never get tired of looking at.
Colt Couples. Another collection of pics that cover the history of Colt. There are some real-life couple here including a few who are no longer together but when they were they starred in some super-hot videos that still fuel some of our fantasies.
Buckshot Boys. In recent years Buckshot has come to represent the younger or more "jockish" type in movies. Brian Hansen pretty much symbolized this type and recently returned to the studio to do work. So it's appropriate to see him on the cover and inside along with several other hot & recent additions.
