Ronnie Kroell: More Than Just A Centerfold

The next issue of Playgirl featuring openly gay model and political activist Ronnie Kroell is due out on newsstands shortly and you'll be happy to know that Ronnie's semi-celebrity status (he came in a close 2nd on the first season of Bravo's Make Me A Super Model ) hasn't gone to his head--it's gone to his heart. Ronnie will be appearing at several Gay Pride celebrations across the country during the next few weeks and signing autographed copies of his Playgirl issue, 50% of the proceeds going to local gay charities.
We're very excited because Ronnie Kroell will be at LA Pride this weekend (Sunday June 13) as a special guest at the second annual Pride At Palihouse. Organized by Chad Hudson guests can eat & drink and watch the parade from "one of the best views in the city". Ronnie will be raising money for White Knot For Equality (www.whiteknot.org) a non-profit group that seeks to spread awareness about marriage equality & LGBT equality overall.
Naturally we're hoping that Ronnie Kroell sticks around and shows up at the festival following the parade but as we mentioned he's making the rounds this year. The day before on Saturday June 12 Ronnie & Laverne Cox will be the celebrity marshalls of Boston's 40th Anniversary gay pride celebration. Celebration as Celebrity Marshals. He'll also be in Chicago from June 24-29, and in Cincinnati on July 3 & 4.
As for the Playgirl issue it's starting to pop up at a few newsstands and a couple pics have been leaked. For those who were disappointed by the last celebrity centerfold (Levi What's-His Name) you'll be happy to know that Ronnie Kroell looks great AND he shows off the goods! We just read that Ronnie smartly was able to get much of the creative control for his photo-shoot including his choice of photographer, stylists, etc.
As we've mentioned many times before Ronnie Kroell has been busy since appearing on the Bravo show. Of course he's continued to pursue his modeling career but he's also continued to contribute to & advocate political causes. You gotta love that. We could go on but check out his Facebook page and see for yourself why he remains one of our favorites.
