Coyote Point: The Review
It's time for another round of video reviews and we begin with Coyote Point from Titan Men, another instant classic from legendary director Joe Gage. We take it for granted that everyone knows Joe Gage and his seemingly boundless creative energy so if Coyote Point is your first Gage film you're in for a pleasant surprise.
Coyote Point is set in a Caliente, a small post-war Nevada town near Las Vegas in 1953. It's an era of sexual repression, especially for those who are gay so that familiar Gage touch of sexual tension is heightened even more. Super-hot JR Matthews plays Tucker, just out of the service and staying with his married & former high school coach Norm played by Tyler Saint. The two guys are sitting around the patio at dusk with another buddy Dex (played by Slade) discussing Tucker's future plans. They mention Coyote Point, the nearby secret meeting place where guys can release their sexual tension and suggest Tucker check it out. The three also talk about some of the other guys in town whose own tales of sexual conquest play out on screen. There's also some simmering sexual tension between the three main guys that flares up in flashes of sexual fantasy between these vignettes. So you know exactly where THIS is headed.
Dex & Norm mention realtor Burt Farley who also owns a place nearby and we see his sex tale unfold. David Anthony is perfectly cast here as the handsome, straight-laced looking guy who looks like he stepped out of a Hollywood studio in the 50s. He also gets the classic gay porn fantasy of the sexy man seducing his neighbor's son. Conor (Chase English) is outside raking leaves and Mr Farley takes him aside to have a chat about sexy--at the request of Conor's mother. The build up to the seduction is nicely done and once inside Farley's home Conor gets his first "lesson". There's an added element of realism here as they suck & jerk off---they keep their shirts on --this IS the 1959's after all.
The three main guys plan on picking up girls but in case that doesn't work out they leave open the option of the shack at Coyote Point. They also talk about the nearby military installation where we find soldier Chet (Scott Campbell) & local police officer Dutch (Dakota Rivers) having guy time. There doesn't seem to be much sexual tension between the two guys until sexy Chet makes an unusual request--his wife is complaining that his ass is too hairy so he wants Dutch to shave it! Dutch complies and of course one thing leads to another. The heat in this scene builds slowly and with great intensity before the loud climax. Scott Campbell is especially good here as the hairy chested straight man who lets loose and turns into the uninhibited bottom.
Of course Dex & Tucker get dumped by their dates so they're drawn to Coyote Point. They step inside the nearly empty & half-dark house where they find a note telling them that if they put on one of the blindfolds laid out for them they'll get "rewarded". Norm puts one on Tucker and leads to to the other side of the room. Out of the other room step Mr Farley & Conor , naked and hard & ready for action. What transpires is a thoroughly hot orgy with so much chemistry and onscreen talent that it's virtually flawless. The pairings change through the course of the scene, aided by the arrival of Slade's character. If you're a fan of JR Matthews (as we are) you'll be very happy with this scene because essentially his character Tucker is the main attraction.
Once again writer-director Joe Gage is the unseen star of Coyote Point. There is a story and script but it's never so overpowering as to make you want to fast forward through any exposition. And, as we've said many times before Gage knows how to weave story and sex together in a well-paced and seductive manner. Titan has another classic on their hands.
