The Trendys Are Coming!
The First Annual Trendy Awards show is a little more than a week away and we've got a little more information for you on this event which kicks off Gay Pride in LA. We first mentioned the awards & posted the nominations (see The Trendy Awards! ) in the early part of May and over the weekend the voting deadline passed so all that's left is the actual presentation which takes place on Thursday June 10 at Micky's in West Hollywood.
The Trendy Awards will be co-hosted by Scotty B and Syren Vaughn. Scotty B is the local porn MC who hosts the weekly "Cocktails With the Stars" event at Micky's which gives local gay porn fans a chance to meet their favorite porn stars. Syren Vaughn is the legendary drag queen from Vegas who has won several awards including the title “Sexiest Drag Queen in Las Vegas” for 2 consecutive years. She's also entertained at a the 2002 Winter Olympics, been the opening act for Melissa Manchester, and participated in Night of a Thousand Gowns in New York City. And that's only a fraction of her resume!
The Trendy Awards begin with a cocktails "meet and greet" from 6:30pm-7:30pm with the awards show beginning at 7:30pm. Here's how the press release describes the awards themselves:
"The Trendy Awards are intended to honor the Fan's choices, giving accolades to those who are currently leading the Pop XXX Culture Trends. In a world where Popularity is a commodity as reliable as Fame, the Trendy Awards mission is to celebrate those trends, fads, fashions, and NOW moments before they fade into the obscurity of yesterday's news only to resurface years later as a retro delight. "
The organizers for the Trendy Awards have lined up a number of diverse sponsors for the show including Micky’s West Hollywood, Raging Stallion Studios, HourBoy, Gay Hot Movies, Drip Clips, Male Menu, NickYoungXXX.com, Jockstrap Maid Service, Cocktails With The Stars and nVisionMax Media.
Jack Manly will be in attendance to cover the awards of course but also to show our support for our porn buddy Robert Chandler. He and his hot website Real Guys Exposed are nominated in THREE categories in this first awards show--and deservedly so.
