The Trendy Awards!
The nominations for the first annual, all-new Trendy Awards have been announced and online voting is now open. What ARE the Trendy Awards? As the official website says the awards are "intended to honor the fan's choices, giving accolades to those who are currently leading the Pop XXX Culture Trends." The awards show is set for Thursday June 10 as a kick-off to this year's Gay Pride in WEho and it looks like the Trendy Awards are aiming high to be counted as one of the annual major gay porn awards. gay
Isn't it interesting that just a few months ago it seemed as though the importance of awards & shows had diminished? Now it looks like the opposite is true and there are more and bigger gay porn awards than ever before all seeking to be as unique as possible.
Before we get to the Trendy Awards nominations it's worth mentioning how the organizers are attempting to make their awards stand out. On the site they mention that their mission is to be as current as possible (hence the "Trendy" moniker and to honor "the gay world's top porn stars, studios, online Sites, amateurs, community contributors, hot spots & personalities". In addition they seem to have made a great effort to find categories and appoint a well-versed & diverse panel of experienced industry pros & fans. Now that the voting has officially begun these judges can also vote but their votes hold no more weight than online voters because EVERYONE is only allowed to cast one ballot per category. AND..the judges have signed a confidentiality agreement. As we said, The Trendys are looking to be as professional as possible.
One more thing. As you can see from the nominations local Weho community eateries, personalities, etc are being honored with nominations. However, the movie & website Trendy Awards are not "localized". As you can tell the nominations are pretty nifty and fun and we're very happy to see that online video scenes and performers are often nominated together with studio productions. Don't forget to vote
