More GLAAD Winners...
The bright side of having fewer awards in the LA event is that each of these winners not only didn't have to compete for media attention among a sea of winners--they actually get more. Here then are the recipients:
Outstanding Film – Wide Release: A Single Man (The Weinstein Company)
Outstanding Comedy Series: Glee (Fox)
Outstanding Reality Program: RuPaul’s Drag Race (Logo/VH1)
Outstanding Spanish-Language TV Journalism Segment:
"Polémicas Adopciones" Noticiero Telemundo (Telemundo)
Outstanding Los Angeles Theater: Lydia by Octavio Solis
Stephen F. Kolzak Award: Wanda Sykes
Vanguard Award: Drew Barrymore
One of the highlights of this year's presentation was the acceptance speech by Glee creator Ryan Murphy. He praised his openly gay cast membrs Jane Lynch & Chris Colfer and noted that the show has a great responsibility to the community. In addition, the awards presentation include two performances by Adam Lambert. The American Idol runner-up sang "Music Again" and "Fever" and followed it up with a request for more "diversity within the gay community."
