Falcon & Next Door Studios Joining Forces!
There's some major news this week regarding two of gay porn's industry leaders. Falcon and Next Door Studios will formally announce later this week that they have formed a "strategic partnership" that a spokesperson described as a "significant occasion for both companies and the gay adult industry as a whole." The official announcement will take this Thursday April 8th at the porn industry's Phoenix Forum.
As we mentioned previously the Phoenix Forum is an annual gay porn industry gathering and arguably the biggest business gathering of the year. With so many industry leaders on hand Falcon & Next Door felt that this was the best venue to make the announcement.
While the full details of the partnership will be announced at the gathering in Phoenix, the mini-press release posted at the Falcon blog this week provided us with some clues:
"...the partnership is expected to combine Falcon Entertainment’s production of iconic gay content with the online marketing expertise and well-established know-how and reach of Next Door Entertainment’s award winning affiliate program, Next Door Buddy Profits."
As you might recall know Buddy Profits has been partnered with iconic Colt Studios for many months now in term of billing, site design,etc and it's very possible that the new Falcon deal will be similar to this. On the other hand the press release seems to hint that the Next Door-Falcon partnership may be much more complex--it could involve a creative partnership as well as a business one.
For the last couple years there have been all kinds of rumors and speculation in the press about Falcon and its future and yet none of them have ever panned out. It's going to be very interesting to see what happens with this upcoming formal announcement.
