News Round-Up: Returning, Retiring, and...?
We were planning on taking a look at what to expect for the coming year but the news this past week has essentially done some of our work for us. Once again we're reminded that making predictions, even educated guesses, isn't advisable in a business that is constantly in flux. That's even true of the news we're reporting on today regarding a few gay porn personalities.
Not too long ago we listed Dawson Riley as one of our online newcomers of the year, although we hinted that his status might be changing soon. Sure enough the sexy Randy Blue performer announced this week on Twitter that quitting the biz and confirmed that he's made some significant life changes--Riley has married his high school sweetheart and the mother of his one-year old baby girl. His boyfriend Josh Griffin verified this info during the week and supports his apparently permanent decision, although he is obviously saddened about not being with Dawson Riley anymore. If you've been following him on Twitter the past few months you know that it has been a somewhat strange and difficult time for Dawson Riley. We won't go into all the personal details but he had several family losses and other misfortunes during and after the holidays. Given all that there was bound to be some soul-searching and re-evaluation. So, while we hate to see Dawson Riley quit, we certainly understand his decision. By the way, there is an off-chance that his brother wants to get into the biz. We're taking a "wait & see" attitude on that.

The on-again, off-again porn career of Jason Adonis seems to be back on again if we're to believe the reports of upcoming video appearances. The sexy star had retired then came back to do a solo Colt video, and seemingly retired again. Then there was the release of Jason Adonis Unseen from Jet Set Men, which included "best of" , new & previously unreleased material. According to reports this week, Jason Adonis is interested in doing more stuff again. Normally we'd be somewhat skeptical of this announcement but it comes from Jason Sechrest whose DV8 Casting company is doing the booking.

Then there are a couple of question marks with regards to two Randy Blue exclusives, Malachi Marx & Leo Giamani. If you recall Malachi Marx "officially" retired from escorting & porn to write his tell-all autobiography. As far as we can tell the book is a still a go, but it's been reported that he's in NYC and offering his services. A temporary thing? Time will tell. Besides, he's apparently is still an Randy Blue exclusive so if he decides to get back into the biz there's at least one open door.
As for Leo Giamani, there are all kinds of rumors & stories floating about. Several months ago we heard he wanted to get out of the business but there was nothing more said on the subject until recently. Even these reports have been lacking consistent details, so we haven't really discussed them. We know that Leo Giamani has paid attention to our blog in the past so if he's reading this we hope he takes the time to write and clear things up for us.
