Jack Manly Best of 2009: Our Favorite Newcomers In Movies
During the next few weeks we'll be covering a lot of ground as we unveil our Jack Manly Best of 2009 in a variety of categories. Like last year we aren't limiting ourselves to the strict "top ten" format for obvious reasons---there are too many hot guys & movies that deserve to be recognized. We're also adding a few new categories and expanding a few existing ones, like today's list.
We begin with our Favorite Newcomers in Movies. This was a hard list to put together simply because there are many guys who are new to movies but who started out at online video sites. Many of these guys changed their names while crossing over so technically they really are newcomers. Then there are those who are new to movies who do both website videos and movies. So, we decided to do as we did last year and do a whole separate entry for our favorite newcomers from online video websites--you'll see that list at a later date) Today's list will include our favorite newcomers whose work was primarily in film in 2009 even if some of them started out on websites.
Tony Aziz. We were impressed with this sexy man after his first film (Dirty!) and were even moreso when we found out he had no previous experience either in or viewing porn. Talk about an on-screen natural. Definitely someone to keep an eye on.
Bruno Bond. Like Cooper, it's hard to imagine this star & Raging Stallion exclusive as a newcomer. He made an impressive debut at Hot House & Mustang and was quickly snatched up by RS where his work includes production as well as performing. Plus he and bf Steve Cruz started their own site Hard Friction.
Samuel Colt. Handsome, muscular, intensely masculine performer who made his mark this year with a variety of memorable films and performances online. Another natural who seems to do it all with great ease. Potent & powerfully sexy, he's already a star.
Landon Conrad. Square-jawed handsome face, ripped muscle bod and a thick cock we first saw this guy at Falcon Str8Men and immediately had to know more. He's also done work for Drake Rock & Channel 1 (a standout in Playing With Fire 4: Alarm) and his Falcon flick Morning Wood comes out early in 2010. Right now however the buzz is getting loud.
Race Cooper. It's hard to believe that we're referring this sexy, muscular star as a newcomer since he's risen so quickly and has his own site Edger 9. We first saw him in XXX and Skuff 4 and watching his stock rise quickly thereafter. Like many other guys on this list he's a dynamic & versatile performer who seemingly can do it all very convincingly.
Drake Jaden. Tattooed, muscular, and hung he's got that devastating combo of looking tough and being vocal yet being versatile. Another of those performers who is at home in films as well as online videos.
JR Matthews. Call him strawberry blond or ginger-headed, this muscular stud did a video for Hot House Backroom before becoming a Titan Men exclusive and standout performer in 4 of the studios hottest films in 2009. His stunning looks are backed up by a enthusiastic performing style and we look forward to seeing more of him in 2010 and beyond.
Will Parker. One of the few cross-overs from online video newcomer to studio film newcomer in the same year. Youthful muscle stud with a gymnast bod who went from Chaos Men to Titan Men exclusive. A hot combo of physical flexibility and interest in the kinky.
Craig Reynolds. This Hot House exclusive was virtually incognito wearing a trucker's cap in Reckless but there was no hiding his beautiful head-to-toe muscle body. You wouldn't think it but this manly stud is also very versatile. Of course we look forward to seeing him in more Hot House productions but you need to check out his appearance in the Hard Friction DVD.
Alessio Romero. Tattooed latin lover type with a hot body and smoldering good looks and intensity. He's done an amazing variety of work for sites and studios and seems up for anything. The fact is that he can do everything from vanilla to heavy duty fetish and with the greatest of ease.
Cole Streets. Like Wolfe, this performer has helped to make hairy chests popular among younger performers. Thanks to some appearances in key movies he too has risen very quickly in the porn star firmament.
Tom Wolfe. Another rugged, masculine & versatile stud who looks serious & intense without being boring to watch. We love that he and other rising stars are embracing their hairiness.
As we mentioned above there are those who made our favorite lists last year but for a variety of reasons this year they are newcomers once again--thanks to their debuts in movies in 2009. We couldn't possibly forget them.
David Taylor. What a year for this gorgeous guy with the All-American looks, edgy tattos & hot body. He went from doing online video work to films where he became a Raging Stallion exclusive AND the studio's Man of the Year.
Vince Ferelli. Like Taylor he too was one of our favorite online video site newcomers in 2008 and made the transition to movies in 2009. Now a very hot Hot House exclusive. Interestingly both he & David Taylor appeared in a scene together (Screwed for Jet Set) on their way to their respective exclusive deals.
Landon Mycles. As Marcus Mojo he was also on our hot list in 2008 and now as a Jet Set performer in has opened up even more. For someone so young top be that mature as a performer is amazing.
Paul Wagner. Last year he was on hot list as a favorite online star as Barry from Sean Cody .This year he became a Hot House exclusive and has displayed that same studly, versatile muscular masculinity in several films. Total babe.
There's one last thing that should be mentioned here with regards to the majority of guys on this list. Obviously they're here because of their sexy looks & talent, but credit should also be afforded to Steve Cruz & Leif Gobo who cast these guys in their Mustang films throughout the year. These directors have shown they know how to find hot talent and a make the most of it.
