Cybersocket Web Awards: Best Porn Star
If we have any complaints about this year's Cybersocket Web Awards nominations it would be the category we're about to discuss--Best Porn Star. It has nothing to do with the any of the merits of the 28 individuals nominated. Yes, 28. That's the killer part of this. Yes, it says a great deal about the strong feelings fans have for these guys but wasn't there some way to come up with different categories for these guys? At the very least they should give an award to the top five vote getters. Just sayin'.
First let's star with those guys from Randy Blue. We've got Reese Rideout & Malachi Marx although you can count Eddie Diaz because that's where we first saw him. Thus, you have to include Lucky Daniels although he's been doing modeling & studio flicks. Reese has essentially been "Mr Randy Blue" while Malachi has officially retired. On the other hand, Eddie is going strong and has done quite a different amount of projects.
Then there are the Channel 1 Releasing exclusives Johnny Hazzard, Jeremy Bilding, & Cameron Marshall. Three completely different types but all share a seriousness about their work and they've been in some big flicks this year.
If you think this was the year of Bel Ami then it's no surprise to see Dolph Lambert & Luke Hamill here. We're still not totally convinced that these guys aren't created in some super secret lab in Europe.
Raging Stallion has their big guns nominated --Ricky Sinz, Steve Cruz, & Logan McCree. Tattoos, oh yes. Guys who put some ooomph into their performances? Oh yeah!
Hot House exclusives Vince Ferelli & Kyle King are on the list and once again two very different types but they have really expanded their "repertoire" this past year. Think about how you originally perceived these guys and where they are now --quite a change, eh?
The guys from Next Door Studios who have their own sites are nominated--Tommy D., Mason Wyler , & Cody Cummings, who won Best Personality last year. Hard not to admire (or envy) guys who have sex with hot guys on a weekly basis.
The other nominees include more European studs Ludovic Canot & Carlo Massi along with Canadians Jeremy Roddick & Brent Everett both of whom have their own sexy sites.
The other nominees are those that really can't be lumped with other guys.
--Talented Wolf Hudson wears many hats in the biz and we're willing to be if he could do a musical porn flick he'd dance in it.
--Falcon exclusive Erik Rhodes seemed to have a re-surging career this year,
--Super-twink Tommy Anders.
--Muscular rising star Josh Griffin who picked up some plum roles in 2009.
--Ripped muscle latin AJ Irons would have to be considered an "it" guy considering all the sites he's appeared on (and probably will in the future)
--Michael Lucas. Performer, actor, activist, director, studio owner. Always has something to say.
