First Annual Fleshbot Awards

Last night in NYC the erotic awards season got an early star with the first annual Fleshbot Awards "recognizing and rewarding sexiness in pop culture." As you might have guessed this was put together by Fleshbot, the blog that covers the sexy side of pop culture (straight & gay) and the award categories reflected this. You might be surprised to learn that this was not only well attended but that it featured some surprising guests & recipients including Levi Johnston! Yes, the young man who continues to be a thorn in the side of his ex-prospective mother-in-law Sarah Palin received an award and was there to accept. More on that in a bit.

The Fleshbot Awards were by hosted by Justin Bond and John Cameron Mitchell, with a special appearance by pornstar Belladonna. There were performances by Mantrix, Justine Joli, & Mistree Lee & Rudy.  As we learned from video reportage of Diesel Washington the evening was quite the mash-up of porn & pop culture (as we've come to expect from Fleshbot) and there was a good representation of gay erotica. It's appropriate then that the award itself was a nice, big metal double-sided dildo! Here's a rundown of what transpired:

--The Sexiest Technology Award was presented by Justine Joli to Jimmy Jane. wins the Sexiest Technology Award!

-- The Sexiest Fashion Newcomers Award was presented by Michael Lucas (yes, THAT one) to The Blonds.

--The Sexiest Art Award was presented by Julie Atlas Muz to comic artist Paul Pope. (Ben Naples accepted for him)

--The Sexy CGI Award was presented by Rob Roth to the animated gay porn flick Pirate's Booty.

--The Mainstream Crossover Award was presented by Tom Judson (formerly known as gay porn icon Gus Mattox) to Sasha Grey (also not in attendance).

--The Readers' Choice Awards were presented by Lux to Titan star Marco Blaze (male) and Joanna Angel (female). She was present but alas Blaze was not.

--The Mainstream-to-Porn Award went to the aforementioned Levi Johnstone who told the crowd that his Playgirl photos will be out next week

--The Sexiest Advertising Award was presented by Ryan Keely to American Apparel. of course. Marsha Brady (no relation) is accepting on behalf of the company.

--The Sexiest TV Award was presented by Jonathan Ames to True Blood.

--The Fleshbot Lifetime Sey Fashion Award was presented by Joey Arias to Patricia Field

Of course we weren't surprised to see that much of the press coverage of this event revolved around the appearance of Levi Johnston as he is still living in his "fifteen minutes of fame" moment. Frankly we don;t care if he extends his fame as long as he exists to annoy Sarah Palin and offset the hypocritical whining of Carrie Prejean.  There seems to be a confluence of events that is making all this possible. Next week Sarah Palin's fantasy book tour begins and her Oprah interview airs while Carrie Prejean continues to peddle her mindless autobiography. At the same time Levi's Playgirl comes out and Carrie's ex says that there are SEVERAL of her masturbatory videos. Plus, Levi is suing for partial custody of his love child. So, we're hoping for more feuding between a couple of horny straight guys with bad taste and two whiny, right-wing bigoted twats.
