A Good Reason To Celebrate Halloween
Are you at all hesitating about going out in about this Halloween? Having trouble coming up with a costume? Are are you just not feeling it? Well we have a new incentive for you to go out. Those buzzkills of the Western world, also known as the Christian right are fomenting about the holiday as inherently evil. Ugh! This week the Christian Broadcasting Network website featured an "article" titled "The Danger of Celebrating Halloween". We won't subject you to a recap of this ludicrous piece except for some choice lines:
"Halloween is much more than a holiday filled with fun and tricks or treats. It is a time for the gathering of evil that masquerades behind the fictitious characters of Dracula, werewolves, mummies and witches on brooms. The truth is that these demons that have been presented as scary cartoons actually exist. I have prayed for witches who are addicted to drinking blood and howling at the moon. While the lukewarm and ignorant think of these customs as "just harmless fun," the vortexes of hell are releasing new assignments against souls. Witches take pride in laughing at the ignorance of natural men (those who ignore the spirit realm).Decorating buildings with Halloween scenes, dressing up for parties, going door-to-door for candy, standing around bonfires and highlighting pumpkin patches are all acts rooted in entertaining familiar spirits. All these activities are demonic and have occult roots."
The article goes on to enumerate the other nefarious activities that go on during Halloween that good Christians should avoid--orgies with animals & humans, necromancy, demon-conjuring, sacrificing babies....you get the picture.
Normally we'd just laugh this off as more right-wing lunacy but the CBN this week also bemoaned the passage & signing of the hate crimes bill. Pat Robertson whined that "the noose has tightened around the necks of Christians" HUH?? Yes, this evangelist who really has no right to call himself a Christian for his hate-mongering instilled the fear that his "flock" now won't be able to speak out against what they consider perversions and "sinners". Uh-huh.
So do yourself a favor and go out and have a good time celebrating Halloween. It will drive those whack-jobs absolutely crazy as much as if there was another gay pride celebration.

"During this period demons are assigned against those who participate in the rituals and festivities. These demons are automatically drawn to the fetishes that open doors for them to come into the lives of human beings. For example, most of the candy sold during this season has been dedicated and prayed over by witches."
