Trailer Time
Just in time for our series of Halloween-related blogs several trailers were posted this past week that fit right into this oh-so special time of year. We already mentioned the upcoming porn noir mystery flick Focus/Refocus coming from Raging Stallion so today we wanted to talk about LA Zombie and Whorrey Potter & The Sorcerer's Balls. You couldn't find two all-star movies that are more different from each other although we find it amusing that both Matthew Rush and Eddie Diaz are in BOTH movies! Plus, as you can see by the links, each flick also has its own website.
There are plenty of pics and info at the LA Zombie site but to see the trailer you need to check out The Sword. It's actually more of a teaser featuring lots of flashing images of zombies & gore accompanied by a hard rock/punk music soundtrack. We've seen Bruce LaBruce movies before so we had a general idea of what to expect but the trailer has us thinking that LA Zombie is something along the lines of a whole new genre. At least that's what we believe the director is shooting for. As you might recall it stars Francois Sagat in the title role and features a who's who of porn stars and LaBruce regulars & pals.
You CAN see the Whorrey Potter & The Sorcerer's Balls trailer on the official website and obviously this Dominic Ford full-length feature is much more of a light-hearted satire. Yet the trailer is also atypical like the one we just mentioned. It has the feel of a "behind-the-scenes" featurette with Matthew Rush appearing as a kind of host. There's plenty of footage to see (including x-rated stuff) and you'll see a few special effects moments. We don't expect to some monumental epic but we sense from what we saw here that Dominic Ford and company had a lot of fun putting this together.
