Dawson Riley, Rising Star
Over the past couple years or so we've talked about and covered several hot newcomers and rising stars, many of whom became buzzworthy in the typical way---either they made their mark with some very key movies or website appearances and/or they were prolific in a short amount of time. However, there are exceptions and one of them has been Dawson Riley. This handsome & muscular Randy Blue exclusive has made only two video appearances in as many months and yet he's been talked up by everyone--from fans to performers to industry biggies. This is the kind of buzz that occurs when a hot guy is introduced in a carefully modulated and extended fashion and as we've seen it really works.
Dawson Riley was introduced in a Randy Blue Live! appearance in mid-August and a little over a week later his first solo video was released. After that he made several guest appearances at selected clubs along with other RB guys and the positive word of mouth just kept growing. It certainly helped that Dawson has been very active & friendly online ---he's on Twitter, he has a blog AND his own website. It's not the kind of "in your face" guerrilla marketing that others have done--it's all done with much more subtlety and moderation. Along the way we've also gotten the impression that Dawson Riley is also a really nice guy, seemingly taking all of this in stride.
This week Randy Blue released the second Dawson Riley video, giving the growing numbers of interested fans a chance to see him in a scene with another guy, Johnny Angel. It's a playfully sexy video featuring two guys that look like they're having fun--and enjoying sex. Dawson Riley has a very natural and easy smile that's disarming and yet sexy as hell. By the way, for those who care Dawson Riley is NOT a gay-for-pay performer. In fact if you follow him on Twitter you'll know that he's dating another star Josh Griffin and they sure seem very happy. In shouldn't matter to us one bit, but we like hearing this kind of stuff.
What's next for Dawson Riley? Good question. Obviously more Randy Blue videos are in the future and more guest appearances. From the tweets we've read it does seem that studio people are interested in filming him or working with him.
