Flux: The Review
When we first read the description of the new Titan Men flick Flux one of the phrases stood out intriguingly: "... the fluid sex flows like a force of nature in this fusion of art and eroticism". Now after seeing the film it turns out to have been a near-perfect description. If you can imagine performance art & theatrics combined with highly erotic sex scenes, that pretty much would give you a good idea of what Flux is like. Director Brian Mills has crafted a fascinating and sexually satisfying film that again demonstrates his often overlooked creative versatility and should put Flux into the list of top films of the year.
Flux starts out with a surrealistic scene in which a business-suited Tyler Saint is the only audience for a live sex show performed by Drake Jaden. It's a slow-building scene where Jaden gyrates and moves around while Saint uses a red laser pointer on the muscular tattooed stud. Once the performer removes his red drawstring-style jock strap and his enormous hard-on pops out Tyler Saint unzips and exposes his own. He's beckoned onto the stage where he and Drake Jaden trade blowjobs before they have a very hot and steamy flip-fuck session. Yep, Tyler Saint bottoms and he goes first! It's all done with no dialog but enough vocal outbursts & passion to make it a very exciting scene. We found that the use of color, cinematography & lighting came together perfectly here and especially liked the watery morphing backdrop effect. Also the two performers are so well matched up that it makes it all seem to unfold effortlessly.
The look of the second scene is artistic too but has more of a romantic tone. It starts off looking like a Revel Milan solo scene until he joins Charly Diaz in an old-fashioned claw-foot bathtub for the kind of male-bonding we like to see. They smooch it up and suck before finishing off on top of a strategically placed towel outside of the tub. All the while you can see the rain falling against the window panes to enhance this touching yet highly-charged erotic scene. Again the pairing is very well chosen as the two Latin lovers look and act like they real are a couple.
The third scene is actually a two-part one filmed into two distinct styles. Hairy-chested & bearded Xavier St. Jude is outside on a wooden deck jacking off when Rick van Sant comes along, seemingly uninvited, to join in. It has the look and feel of a scene that might have been cut out of another outdoor Titan film and so seems a little jarring after the dimly lit sex scenes that preceded it. They have some oral fun on the deck before cumming and curling up next to each other on the deck. Fade-out, the end. Or so you think. The scene fades in on the two guys, still on the deck but the backdrop has changed to something much more dream-like like the first two scenes. In fact the deck looks like it's right next a bright green flowing river thanks to some nifty effects. For this part of the scene Van Sant tops St Jude and while it may be the effect of the setting, the sex has a much more intimate feel.
The end of the third scene focuses on that green river lighting we spoke of and this color flows right into that of the swimsuit worn by super-hot Marco Blaze. He too seems to be up on a stage with swirling curtains and colorful lighting, contrasted with one prop--a steel table. Sitting atop the table Blaze starts to jack his VERY thick dick for an unseen audience. Off to the side appears Slade and he joins him on stage, first sucking on Blaze then playing with his beautiful bubble butt. By this time Marco Blaze is up on the table and definitely showing off that incredible ass. From the other side of the stage comes Andreas Cavalli to join in the fun. What transpires is an eye-opening three-way where Marco Blaze pretty much gets used by both hung men--and he loves every second. It's one of the reason that Blaze is a star--he's versatile as a top and bottom as well as a romantic, passionate performer with a sex-pig undercurrent.
On their own each one of the four scenes in Flux is mighty hot, while taken as a whole it's pretty powerful stuff. It's really worth checking out. By the way Flux is also available for viewing on VOD from Titan just in case you don't want wait.
