Tommy D---Another Look
During the course of revamping the Jack Manly Men section of the site it's been interesting to see how things have changed since we first launched the section. Think about it: how often do you hear us or anyone else for that matter refer to top video websites as "amateur sites"? As for Jack Manly, our tastes haven't really changed radically, just evolved and broadened. While we've added several names to the section and will continue to do so in the future, we're very pleased with our original selections. In many cases the trajectories of their careers has actually reinforced our selection of them as Jack Manly Men.
Case in point is Tommy D. We've spotlighted him several times in this blog for a variety of reasons, the most important being that his career has been very relevant to the adult industry. He's been in it since 2001 and has kept up with the major trends without really having to reinvent himself or go into any radical directions in his career. Updating his profile at Jack Manly Men was very easy to do because he's consistently remained a top star and made all the right career moves. If there was any difficulty it was keeping it simple.
We could also make the case (and we just did that on his profile) that the success of Tommy D has been a been factor in the success of Next Door Studios in general and on a case by case basis. We firmly believe that performers on this family of sites have often emulated his style, consciously or not. Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery but no one really has been able to duplicate the Tommy D style. Tommy has mentioned that there could be a time a couple years into the future where he'll quit the biz, as is his choice. As far as we're concerned it's doubtful that Next Door Studios will be able to replace him.
