ALL Porn Turns Men Gay!
The meeting was conducting a panel discussion on "The New Masculinity" (sounds sexy, eh?) when Schwartz started talking about the evils of pornography as a "silent disease'. Now we know that there will always be this school of thought regarding porn but Mr Schwartz didn't stop there. He claimed when exposed to sexy material young boys are often "turned into" homosexuals! GASP! Even something as relatively harmless as Playboy!
Alas, this little pearl of wisdom wasn't enough for Mr Schwartz. He went on to say that adolescent boys instinctively "reject" homosexuality but when exposed to porn they apparently are drawn to it. Or in his words "homosexuality is inflicted on people". Then he goes on to say this:
"...all pornography is homosexual pornography because all pornography turns your sexual drive inwards. And that in fact is what it does. I know couples now who are struggling with the husband's addiction to pornography. It's a terrible thing. And that's what happens. And, you know, if it doesn't turn you homosexual, it at least renders you less capable of loving your wife. And it's something you need to be healed of."
Aren't you glad that there are people like Michael Schwartz around to explain why you're gay? And aren't you delighted that there are ignorant senators serving our nation like Coburn? The doctor-turned-politician has been battling what he calls the "homosexual agenda" for some time. Kinda warms the heart eh?
We wonder what Schwartz, Coburn & the Family Research Council think about a new Iowa state poll that says that 92% of Iowans believe that "gay marriage has brought no real change to their lives." The right wingers have been screaming that legalization of gay marriage threatens the institution of traditional marriage. So how do they explain Iowans' attitude?
Then there's that local California man who is trying to get enough signatures to put a purposely ridiculous initiative on the ballot that would outlaw divorce. He's trying to show the stupidity of Prop 8 by getting this "anti-divorce" measure on next year's ballot as a way of "defending" marriage. Sounds good to us!
