Dripping Wet 2: The Review
Given the number of gay porn flicks that have used pools, showers, waterfalls, etc as backdrops and/or themes it has often been hard to distinguish these water-themed videos from each other even when they're released from different studios. Falcon alone has had a number of liquid-y titles from the very beginning: the Splash Shots series, Aqua, Drenched, Dripping Wet, Longboard, etc so we approached Dripping Wet 2 with perhaps a more critical eye than usual--we wanted to see something special.
Dripping Wet 2 looks like it was filmed in a desert oasis style resort so right from the start the setting gives the film a boost towards being memorable. Surprisingly the first scene which sets the tone features real-life couple Aden & Jordan Jaric who usually don't appear in a Falcon movie at this stage. At almost a half-hour in length it's a hot sex scene with a dreamily romantic feel that is hard to replicate with "non-couples". To be sure the look of the well-scrubbed, tan, shaved, and near-pristinely handsome couple almost doesn't mesh with the hardcore flip-flop sex they have here. However, this contrast makes the scene work all the better. If these two were ever to get into a fetish-themed scene who knows what fireworks that would set off.
The next poolside sex scene features a semi-hairy Heath Anthony and Spencer Reed who are an interesting study in contrasts. Reed has a darker edge with his muscular tattooed body & pierced nipples, while Anthony is semi-hairy, sandy-haired and more clean cut. They begin their scene kissing like they mean it (yes, one of our pet peeves is couples or individuals who don't do it well) Heath Anthony is all over Spencer Reed (we definitely identify with that!) and when an aggressive bottom meets a hard-driving top, we love it. In addition the two performers get vocal & verbal which adds to the heat of the scene. As we've mentioned elsewhere we have a Jack Manly crush on Spencer Reed so we can't see through the stars in our eyes to criticize him here. He's a manly top without being a dick and makes sex look like fun, not work.
Handsome couple Bobby Clark & TJ Hawke also begin their scene in the pool kissing and trading blow jobs and it looks like their scene will evolve normally. However, dark-haired Turk Mason enters the picture and an oral three-way ensues. This unexpected turn is followed by another as TJ gets a little verbally nasty with his scene-mates. A hose comes into play here too as surrogate and catalyst for TJ Hawke's surprising
nasty streak, which incidentally goes full force once Bobby Clark is topping Turk Mason.
TJ Hawke doesn't quite get satisfied so he pops up again in the last scene seducing and topping floppy-haired blond Jason Pitt. TJ & Jason calm the waters a bit after the previous torrid scene but there are still some vocal stylings to add a little oomph. By the way, if you're one of those that would like to see someone wipe the smirk off Jason Pitt's face, this is the scene for you.
John Bruno wrote and directed Dripping Wet 2 and his smooth seamless style is perfect for this kind of flick. In spite of the different tones and action in each scene Dripping Wet 2 still feels like a whole. Credit also goes to videographers Brad Austin & Adam Killian. As we've mentioned before we recognize Killian's intimate yet unobtrusive camera work. Austin & Killian provide enough close-ups to show what's going on without turning the film into a clinical male anatomy lesson.
In the end we have to say that Dripping Wet 2 does stand out from the rest of the water-themed movies we talked about earlier. There's just enough difference per scene and overall to make it unique and memorable.
