Everyone's Talking About Men Of Israel
It's no big surprise when porn blogs and other adult media are talking about a new video release. It's a whole other story when mainstream media and rival porn studios are talking about it. But that's exactly what has happened with Michael Lucas' Men Of Israel. The Los Angeles Times had a article on this new flick and its impact and Raging Stallion president (Chris Ward) has called it "one of the greatest porn movies of the year"! How could a gay porn movie elicit such reactions?
First you have to go back several months when porn star and head of Lucas Entertainment Michael Lucas publicized that he was going to Israel to film a gay porn movie. His intentions (besides filming a profitable gay porn flick) were to show that Israel was a beautiful place both politically & geographically and that it was a gay-friendly environment. Of course he also wanted to show the beautiful and sexy men of the country. Now we all can attest that Michael Lucas never does anything like this either quietly or subtly so the gay media was well aware of Men Of Israel way before it was released.
The big surprise came when The LA Times published a story on the film, referring to it as a "landmark production" and taking a fairly non-judgmental stance on porn. The article mentions that this is the first all-Jewish gay porn film ever done and it talks about Jewish identity in all film. The writer even did his homework, bringing up the story of Roman Ragazzi and his troubles (he worked for the Israeli consulate in NY till his other career was revealed). He even ponders whether the all-Israel all-Jewish casting will have a positive effect on perceptions of Jewish men in porn.
This weekend Chris Ward sent out an e-mail with a ringing endorsement of Men Of Israel. Ward mentions that "we do not sell movies from other companies to our list, but this time I have decided to make an exception..". He goes on to sing the praises of men from the Middle East, he commends Lucas, and he states categorically that "Raging Stallions fans should own this move"! Ward knows what he's talking about since one of the stars of Men Of Israel is Morr Foxx. Foxx recently appeared in the recent Raging Stallion release Porn Stars In Love with his real life Israeli lover Adam Excell. He's also appeared in several other Raging Stallion productions.
As for the rest of the cast of Men Of Israel they are unquestionably super-hot. Avi Dar, Guy Ronen, Jonathan Agassi, Matan Shalev, Naor Tai, & Ninrod Gonen. We've seen a few clips and they do seem to live up to the praise--a mixture of exotic settings, beautiful photography, and passionate & hard-driving sex. We'll make sure to review this one as soon as we can.
