News Round-Up: The Steve Cruz Edition

At the rate that he's going, we could easily devote a regular "news round-up" to porn multi-tasker Steve Cruz--the guy is seemingly always busy doing something in front of or behind the camera. And for that we're very grateful. This week his blog was loaded with news and information that we wanted to flesh out a little and illustrate that Steve is pursuing quality as well as quantity of work.

First, this week the entire Mustang flick Green Door was released online at Falcon XXX. We're not sure when the DVD will be released but if you can't wait to see this last video in the Steve Cruz/Leif Gobo "color box" trilogy, the Falcon XXX VOD option is the way to go. True, this is the last in the series but it's not the last Cruz/Gobo Mustang video. We don't know what the arrangement is but there are more Mustang flicks on the way.

In September the next Steve Cruz Mustang flick Dirty! will be released and in the production blog starts up in August. As we and the blog have mentioned before this one was filmed in the "back country" and features another hot cast including some newcomers that we're excited to see again like Drake Jaden & Race Cooper.

About the same time that the Dirty! production blog starts, Steve Cruz & Leif Gobo start filming their NEXT Mustang flick Dark Room. On Steve's newest blog he started to reveal info about it and once again he's assembled a tantalizing cast--Johnny Gunn, Samuel Colt, Tom Wolfe, Draven Torres, Roman Wright and others soon to be announced. If the cast doesn't intrigue, the sponsors of the film should --Slickitup.com and MaleStockroom.com. So you know this one will have heavy duty fetish & kink and as Steve adds "voyeurism and submission"  We're delighted to see that David Mason's Slick It Up gear will be getting a showcase here (a reminder: do check out David's blog House of Vader --it's always fun). Steve also announced that this time the film photographer is Greg Thompson (check out his stuff !).

From his films that have already been released and the ones we just mentioned here it should be clear to you (as is it to us) that Steve Cruz has an exceptionally keen eye for choosing talent. That said, we think that it takes someone WITH talent to recognize it in others. Fortunately we'll finally get to see the on-camera Steve Cruz again--and in a major way.

It's been awhile but Steve is going to work in August as a performer for Raging Stallion when filming begins on the studio's biggest release of the year. We have very little info on this new one except that Steve characterized it as a "porn thriller",he and five others have starring roles, and it's the "biggest porn production I've ever been a part of..." Last year Steve was unavailable for To the Last Man and the year before he was in Grunts, which was a really big production at the time. So, if this is the "biggest" he isn't joking.

We've mentioned before that Steve Cruz and Bruno Bond are also busy with their website Hard Friction which is due this fall. Again, here's where Steve's eye for talent comes in. They've already filmed scenes with Dominic Pacifico, Luke Riley, Tony Aziz & Derrek Diamond. Plus, if you recall Steve & Bruno went on a talent search while on vacation in London and during Grabbys/IML weekend in Chicago.
If you'll pardon the expression, these trips apparently were "fruitful". They yielded the aforementioned studs Draven TorresRoman Wright and a submissive muscle bottom Rex Rover. Yes, we're dying to see pics!  Steve is obviously very enthused about this website so it follows that we are too.

The talent search goes on too. Steve Cruz' blog mentions that they are always looking for new guys and accepting applications online.

Finally, while it's not news there are two new Green Room cast interviews on the Steve Cruz blog with Drake Jaden & Luke Riley. The Q & A are always fun and reveal just enough about the subjects  that you want to see them in action.
