Mustang Opens The Green Door

This weekend we got a nice surprise from Falcon---the studio made available for download a scene from the highly anticipated Mustang flick Green Door directed by Steve Cruz. Because we've been looking forward to seeing Green Door, the last in the "RGB Color" series from Cruz & Gobo we jumped at the chance to see the scene. Of course we'd prefer to see the film in its entirety but the fact is that this scene was one were especially interested in seeing. It features newcomers Alessio Romero, who we know, and Samuel Colt, whom we spotlighted here previously (Newcomer Alert: Samuel Colt). So, part of our 4th of July included watching this scene and you can read our "review" below.
Before we get to that review, we have to give another shout out to Steve Cruz' blog. It's always entertaining and informative and it never feels like blatant self-promotion. In many ways Steve Cruz has positively influenced the blogs & Twitter accounts of those with whom he's worked on these Mustang films.
Steve Cruz also uses his blog for production diaries on his films which include exclusive pics, interviews with the performers, and nice tidbits of info. Thanks to these diaries we get just enough info for a film like Green Door to tantalize us and create the anticipation. The latest entry is just great since Steve interviews Alessio Romero, AND photographer Joe Oppedisano. What a treasure trove of sexy info!
Since the first downloadable scene (available on the "Buy A Scene" page at Falcon) from Green Door doesn't really tell you about the premise we'll do so here. The setting is a strange bar with a "green door" that leads to some kind of other sex-filled reality. Of course we the viewers get to see what's behind the door as with the scene we're reviewing today. Obviously there's more to Green Door than what we described so again check out Steve Cruz' blog for more info.
Now to the scene. Unshaven studs Samuel Colt & Alessio Romero are decked out in white t-shirts, tight jeans and black leather jackets looking like a couple of Tom of Finland studs. In a darkened bar setting these two start off pushing each other around ready to brawl, but instead it's a rough 'n' tumble sexual encounter. Thus foreplay is a hard-kissing, pec-punching, nipple-twisting lovefest before the two strip down to well-worn jock straps and get down to business. Samuel Colt is the dominating alpha male but Alessio Romero isn't exactly the passive bottom either even when this hot & semi-brutish scene winds up on top of a bar table. This is the kind of passionate & raw masculine sex scene that could only happen between two men and which you don't see enough of in films. Of course this can only work if there's chemistry and these two guys have plenty.
This Green Door scene is a perfect example of synchronicity between performers, director and videographer. Even if we hadn't already been taken with Samuel Colt we would have been after seeing him in this scene, his feature debut. On the physical side he is handsome, muscular and intensely masculine. As a performer he expresses himself without inhibition but without exaggeration either. He's what a director wants in a performer--someone who has an exhbitionist side without trying to be the center of attention. Handsome & tattooed Alessio Romero is a little more tentative but gets drawn into being more aggresive as the scene goes on. He's someone to watch for too.
Once again it all comes together perfectly. You already know that we think the team of Steve Cruz & Leif Gobo have something really special going on together creatively. This impressively performed, directed and photographed scene does the trick in terms of whetting our appetite for the entire Green Door flick. We don't want to jinx them, but it sure seems like the team of Steve Cruz & Leif Gobo can do no wrong. Looks like they have another success on their hands.
