Checking Up With On The Hunt
Last week we noticed a big surge in traffic at On The Hunt and surmised that it might be due to a new video featuring Arpad Miklos & Pat Bateman. As it turns out, that was exactly the reason for the upsurge as verified by On The Hunt itself. At first we were surprised by this, but after a little thought it made perfect sense. Who wouldn't want to see a video where masculine & muscular, hairy-chested gay porn icon and hard-driving top Arpad Miklos takes it to cocky "gay for pay" stud Pat Bateman? Bateman has stirred up a lot of strong feelings in the blogs so this video is something akin to him getting his comeuppance. It's director by online porn stud Jeremy Hall so it has a realistic, spontaneous feel.
Now, some of you might be thinking "wait a minute, I thought the premise of On The Hunt was that it featured real Manhunt members having their sexual encounters filmed by real porn stars. How does THIS video fit in?"
To be perfectly honest that thought crossed our mind too, but technically On The Hunt didn't really abandon its premise for this video--- Arpad Miklos IS a member of Manhunt. That said, there have been instances when On The Hunt videos have featured non-Manhunt members. But why be sticklers? If a video is good (and many of the videos here at On The Hunt are) why quibble over whether it conforms exactly to the site's original premise. After all, do we really have to point out that many so-called "amateur" sites don't always feature performers that are "non-experienced". It's one of the reasons that they aren't even referred to as amateur sites anymore.
When all is said and done this Miklos-Bateman video did the trick and gave US the incentive to go back and give On The Hunt another closer look. When we first gave an in-depth appraisal of On The Hunt we found it to be very impressive both in effort and results. Since then it has kept up its commitment to diversity and quality while simply being a fun site to visit and join. On The Hunt has also made us fans of Jeremy Hall and given us a good reason to be impressed all over again with guys like Beaux Banner, Rod Daily, and the aforementioned Arpad Miklos. Ultimately we're impressed with On The Hunt all over again too.
