As we mentioned previously we're doing some catch-up on our video reviews with some recent releases from Hot House. This time out we turn our attention to the fetish-themed Skuff 4. First, a little background. It's been 10 years since the first Skuff: Downright movie was released and it has become a classic--its influence on future films from all studios can still be seen. It was followed up by two more ambitious two disc videos, Skuff II: Downright Filthy and Skuff 3: Downright Wrong. All three flicks featured amazing line-ups of sexy superstars, some of whom were not known for tackling leather & kink, others who have become closely associated with it. They're all-sex films without any over-all plot and often push the boundaries. 
                     

 Hot House has scaled back from the two-disc format for Skuff 4: Downright Fierce but director Steven Scarborough hasn't scaled back the quality. Nor has he gotten tame with the fetish action. The result is a totally satisfying visual treat with top-notch performers in very hot scenes, each of which are distinguished from on another by their unique and unpredictable qualities.

 We have previously reviewed the first scene of Skuff 4 (it was a "pick of the week") but we'll give it a second look here. It's a perfect intro to the rest of the film because it has a little bit of twist and sets up what is to come. Josh West is the dominating stud to Paul Wagner (formerly of Sean Cody) who is on his knees in a cage lit with fluorescent tubing to give him a weak, washed out look. West forces Wagner to give him oral gratification through the bars of the cage until he decides he wants more and lets his "boy" out of the cage. Wrong move. Once out of his cage Paul Wagner becomes the dominating force and Josh West takes the orders. That said, don't think you know where this one is going. Of course we know that Josh West can do any role convincingly, but you'll see why Paul Wagner has been heavily promoted by Hot House. He's a very sexy, natural performer and quite versatile.

                          

 Johnny Gunn is in a bit more of predicament in scene two--hogtied and butt-plugged atop of low pedestal as though being offered up for some hot top who might be passing by. Of course that's what happens in the person of Andrew Justice. He teases and plays with the tied up stud for a bit and then lets him loose.
The scene takes a turn similar to the first one but Justice & Gunn mix it up even more. What we liked about this scene was the variety of action and the ability of both performers to look like they're pushing the envelope on their own. 

                

Our Hot House fave Kyle King has gotten slightly kinky before in his flicks but here in Skuff 4 he gets downright piggy. Scene three has Kyle using a sizable dildo and winds up being used by real life couple Luke & Brendan Davies. It's a very atmospheric scene complete with echoed sounds, lightning and thunder and a heavy downpour of rain. All three guys get verbal, nasty & loud and it has the effect of one super-hot scene. We already knew that Kyle King didn't go through the motions but we didn't expect this much heat.

 The alley sex scene with Race Cooper & Derrek Diamond may not have the twists or the atmospherics of the previous scenes but the two performers really get down to some heated sex. Derrek cruises leather stud Race and before long they're doing it on the motorcycle and on a discarded mattress. Plus, as with the previous scene the two guys get nice & verbal. Seeing Derrek Diamond do this kind of scene was a nice change of pace especially coupled with newcomer Race Cooper. What a hottie and what a dynamic performer! 

         

 At this point in viewing Skuff 4 it's doubtful that you won't have managed to get off but your sexual stamina will be tested with the final scene. It has three amazingly hot men who really work their scenario with gusto. If you get excited by gladiator movies or those where a muscular hero fights against chained bondage, this scene will be right up your alley. Bearded muscle stud Vince Ferelli is the chained hero, straining and flexing against his captivity. Enter Ross Hurston & Ethan Wolfe as the horny devils who seem to have captured their muscled prey. What happens next is another very hot twist and then another as the roles of top & bottom, master & slave get a thorough working over. 

 Director Steven Scarborough has managed to craft a sex flick that is nearly perfect. Aside from the well-conceived scenes there are some subtle touches from the signage, the set designs, and the use of fetish wear. If you have fond memories of the other Skuff flicks you will find Skuff 4 to be a very worthy successor. If you haven't seen any of the previous Skuff flicks this one will act as a great incentive to view them.
