Seize Your Bottom: The Review
Since Benjamin Bradley made his debut at Randy Blue this week, we thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to review one of his most recent flicks since getting back into it--Seize Your Bottom from Channel 1 Releasing/Rascal. As we hinted at earlier, this one and the newest feature Tread Heavy are a bit of a departure for the sexy and squeaky clean-looking star. They have a lightly kinky, fetish theme that director Chi Chi LaRue has been putting to good use in recent years and seem to be a perfect fit for the "new" Benjamin Bradley.
Seize Your Bottom is a series of vignettes with a common theme of "bondage & obedience" and although some of the situations might seem outlandish it's all done with a remarkably straight-faced approach. While Seize Your Bottom certainly isn't overly dark or disturbing the scenes are all filmed with dramatic lighting and a edgy feel.
First up is star Benjamin Bradley looking very dapper in business attire, arriving home to retreat to his closet where he's been keeping his "boy" Lucky Daniels, cuffed and gagged awaited his master. Again there could be a lot of snickering in this scene but neither actor overplays it and it actually turns into a passionate sex scene. If you're a claustrophobic type you'll find this extra tense because the sex is filmed in the closet, often at a very intimate close-up angle.
Next we find sexy blond Luke Riley with an apple in his mouth, tied up on top of a dining room table adorned with bunches of grapes. And that's exactly where a sex-hungry Tommy Defendi starts to devour his prize. The sex all takes place on top of the table and it might very well give you some ideas of some interesting new sexual games.
Josh Vaughn and Justin Taylor appear in scene three as a couple of twink lovers who use an anal sex toy that looks like an over sized red Tootsie Pop on a stick. Blond show is the "receptor" while Justin is the skilled teaser. Even if you aren't into younger performers you'll appreciate the fact that they are doing a few daring things. Interestingly this scene has more of a washed out dreamy, misty look and so it seems more fantasy-tinged.
The final scene in Seize Your Bottom is a re-do of the first scene ---but with a grittier edge. Josh West walks into the tool shed to find Johnny Hazzard tied up, awaiting his master's return. The ambiance of tools and hardware, jock straps and tattoos seems to work to make this less romantic and more hard core. Often in the beginning of the scene the camera zeros in on Johnny Hazzard's sweetly innocent eyes which as we know from his other films is not indicative of his dirty-boy appeal. Josh West & Hazzard make an excellent pair because each projects a wicked side in a matter of fact way.
Obviously credit for Seize Your Bottom goes to director Chi Chi LaRue who proves that prolific longtime filmmakers are successful when they do something with flair and enthusiasm----and that's the impression we get from this film. Chi Chi LaRue also employs great videographers and when the credits rolled we knew that talented Adam Killian was involved. You could see his touches all over this--the close-up, intimate feel and the artistic, non-disconcerting angles.
