Southern Strokes For Many Folks
Southern Strokes was something of a hidden treasure when we discovered its existence last year and we've derived a lot of pleasure watching it evolve even more in 2009. It didn't take very long but Southern Strokes has quickly become one of our favorite sites. There are several reasons why we heartily recommend Southern Strokes, not the least of which were the changes the site has made over the past few months.
First, there's the improved design of the site. It's clean, inviting, easy to navigate and makes a deliberate effort to give casual visitors a good idea of what's in store. Southern Strokes obviously paid attention to other successful websites to come up their own design even from the beginning. However, designers will often tell you: don't fall in love with your first idea. That's really the first rule of any online video site when it comes to web design but you'd be surprised at how many of them don't get this.
Second, it's the sexy guys. Southern Strokes has always had a wonderful assortment of fresh new faces from the South that populate its site but there have been some real hot ones this year. Preston, Buck, and Bobby are just some of the new guys that are frankly indescribable. It's also worth mentioning that there have been a few familiar faces from the world of online video that have popped up here and we have no complaints. There's Ryan (also known as Rocco at College Dudes 24/7 and Chaos Men) who looks pretty darn sexy filled out a bit and with a little facial scruff. And there's Chase Stephens (of Randy Blue fame) who came on board as a fan of Southern Strokes. Yes, both he and Ryan ARE from the South, so Southern Strokes still keeps its geographic prerequisites intact.
Third, it's the videos. Southern Strokes has transitioned seamlessly into providing more videos that featured two (or more) guys. Plus, there's good news. Southern Strokes is now updating video releases TWICE a week. Which means more southern studs to keep fans "occupied".
Finally, the beauty of Southern Strokes is that this methodical transition into a damn good site has been subtle and without fanfare, even though it deserves it. That's where we come in.
