Given the advances made in CGI technology in the last few years it was inevitable that it some company would put it to use in gay porn. On May 12 Adult Source Media is releasing Pirate’s Booty, a feature-length gay adult fantasy all done in CGI. It's not the first adult animated featured, nor the first gay one (remember House of Morecock?) but it is the first all-CGI gay feature.

  According to a press release we read, the company apparently thought that the gay adult market would be the perfect audience for an adult animated fantasy and that Pirate's Booty would do the trick. Pirate's Booty is the story of pirate captain Jack Swallows and his horny crew and their sexual adventures on the high seas. Obviously the CGI allows the story to use exotic settings without the cost of sets.   Of course this is an interesting use of the technology, but will it serve the main purpose of erotica? Yes, we know that there is a good percentage of guys who get off to animation, comics, and digital art. After all, in these media artists can create all kinds of fantasies, including depictions of disproportionately large muscles and genitalia. But will CGI  be able to sell to a bigger audience? We shall see. We don't think it's going to replace "live-action" adult flicks just as we don't CGI will replace actors in mainstream movies. Although....well, we'll let you see Watchmen and see for yourself.
