Caleb Carter: A Tribute
Over the weekend it was reported that gay adult performer Caleb Carter took his own life and the news has produced shock, disbelief and sadness from his friends, family and colleagues. We've read the outpouring of emotional comments and tributes at various blogs from those who knew him and they've said it better than those of us who didn't know him personally. What we can say is that no matter how one dies, a loss is still a loss to those who are left behind.
From what we've read in the commentaries posted on the blogs so far is that free-spirited Caleb Carter (Ben to his friends and loved ones) was appreciated and loved for his sense of humor, his sometimes provocative behavior, and his creative nature. He did only 13 films since his debut in 2004, but he obviously made an impression on those whom he met. He also appeared on MTV's Parental Control as Ben, the bad boy who got dumped by his boyfriend Matt win this semi-scripted reality dating show.
It's typical at times like this to try and make sense out of something so seemingly incomprehensible. For detractors it's also tempting to be cruel or callous. We simply will say the most obvious and hopefully the most basic: Caleb Carter will be missed.
