Our Valentine's Day Treat
We may not have a spectacularly romantic day or evening on Valentine's Day but our hearts got a little treat when we attended a book-signing for How To Be A Gay Porn Star by Mike Donner. Donner was there at the West Hollywood branch of A Different Light, discussing his book, answering questions and signing copies for the group that attended. His special guests were two of the adult film actors that he has worked with and who participated in his book project: Dean Phoenix & Brant Moore. Simply stated it was a delightful evening.
The book How To Be A Gay Porn Star is entertaining, informative, and witty and we think it's essential reading for those who want to get into the business and those fascinated by it. Mike Donner writes as he speaks in person--clearly, succinctly, and frankly----without being crudely blunt. There are things that we learned in the book and from Mike in person that we didn't know before, myths that were debunked AND confirmed, and more---without any sort of bitchy tone.
The same can be said for the two dreamy stars who stopped by to answer questions and sign books, the aforementioned Dean Phoenix & Brant Moore. Both of these two charming and well-spoken men had very positive things to say about the author and about the industry. They both contributed to the book and as you'll see Brant is on the cover and in the interior photographs. We must confess that we've had a major crush on Dean Phoenix for several years and meeting with and chatting with him only made us like him all the more. It was refreshing to hear nice things about the industry from all the guests.
As we mentioned we took some time to record on video portions of Mike's Q & A with the audience but we also recorded our chats with him, Dean & Brant after the main program. We'll be editing this footage into several videos that will be posted on YouTube. We're every eager to give you a glimpse into these very personable gentlemen. We'd also like to take the time to thank Mike, Dean, and Brant for consenting to let us interview them for our site. Again, we urge you to buy this nice book---it's really worth your while.
