A Month of Love
February is one of those months that is loaded with holidays and observances as though the powers that be subconsciously took pity on the chilly, day-deprived month--Black History Month, Mardi Gras, Carnivale, Carnevale, Groundhog Day, Presidents' Day (or for purists, Lincoln's Birthday and Washington's Birthday), Susan B Anthony's Birthday, Charles Dickens Day, and one we really had never heard of before and defies explanation--The 100th Day of School.
The month of February is also host to the second highest card-giving day of the year (behind Christmas)--Valentine's Day. It's the day when significant others bestow upon each other tokens of affection that could be as simple as a card, flowers, or a box of candy to something as significant as a night on the town, a romantic getaway, or a proposal of marriage. It's even a day when hopeful suitors can reveal their crushes or take a new relationship to another level.
In spite of the fact that many don't celebrate Valentine's Day for a variety of reasons, we'll be using this month to spotlight a true rarity: gay porn couples. It takes a remarkably secure relationship to withstand the obvious difficulties when one member of a couple performs in adult media. We imagine it's even more difficult to maintain a relationship when both partners are involved in the industry. We don't pretend to know the dynamics of such relationships nor is it our place (or anyone else's for that matter) to make any judgments about these guys. We simply want to point out that they exist, whether or not they work out in the long run or not. In fact, there's no guarantee on any relationship, is there?
Let's start off with the couple who work together in movie scenes and are billed together, Aden & Jordan Jaric. Unlike other porn couples these two handsome and sexy guys didn't meet up on the set of a film and then hook up. They met in January 2005 at a SF nightclub as patrons and it was love at first sight. Within a few weeks they were living together in Sacramento. In the spring of 2007 Jordan came up with the idea of he and Aden doing gay porn together as a monogamous couple and pitched the idea to Falcon, which loved the idea. Within a week the decision was made to go ahead with the idea and the rest is history. They have appeared together in five videos as well as live online shows (sometimes solos). They travel for personal appearances but their home base remains in Sacramento, as mentioned in the blog they maintain at Falcon.
Some interesting facts about their Falcon flicks:
--Only in Best Men 2 do the guys get it on with other featured players. In their other films they appear exclusively with each other.
--In films Jordan is the top but he did flip in Malibu Heat and Falcon made this scene "Aden tops Jordan" available as a download.
-- They appeared in a live Falcon XXX show before their first flick Endless Crush was released.
-- The Jarics are the only Falcon performers to appear in both Winter Heat & Rough Play.
Finally, as their names imply the two consider themselves married although they didn't have the official ceremony in the days when it was legal in California. Who knows what will happen if same-sex marriage is reinstated in the state. Perhaps then the Jarics will add another sweet chapter to their unique love story.
