Straight Talk From Sean Cody

We've mentioned on more than one occasion that one of the things we like about Sean Cody is its approach to their models' back stories. Many sites provide back stories for their models and they often cover their sexual preference, how the site host "discovered" them, their past experiences, etc. We view much of this with a skeptical eye because it's really intended to add to the fantasy elements that are inherent in adult entertainment. However, we've grown to be less skeptical of Sean Cody because the site has back stories provided by the models themselves. Sean Cody lets the guys tell their stories and doesn't question their veracity.

The back story element that probably gets the most skepticism is the self-professed sexuality of the models. As we've seen in the debate over gay-for-pay performers, it's pretty hard to believe that so many of these guys are straight when they have all kinds of gay sex and do it with convincing ease. As time goes on, those old labels get pretty worn and we've come to understand that sexuality is nuanced. Sure there are some guys that insist on keeping strict labels about their sexuality for a variety of reasons whether or not those labels are true.

This past week Sean Cody addressed the issue briefly while describing the very hot pairing of Shane & Curtis. "I've said it before: I'm just the messenger. The guys tell me what they're into and I report it. I respect what they tell me and don't make public assumptions about its veracity....I also find that some guys come in and identify with one side of the spectrum and then end up on the other side (or somewhere in between). And they admit it...."

Case in point is Curtis, the auburn-haired stud who came to Sean Cody identifying himself as straight but found he likes getting topped so much that he now identifies himself as bi. He states it very simply in his video interview: "I like the way it feels." His partner this week is Shane who is the flip side (so to speak)---he identifies himself as bisexual with a tilt towards being gay and a top. Let's just say that resulting match up is perfect and when their lips meet they know it too.

This brings us to one of the observations we've made about many of the self-professed straight gay for pay performers. There are guys who will do just about everything except kiss--it's the last taboo. Even among some of these guys who do kiss, you can tell they're doing it half-heartedly. Ironically kissing between men can be more intimate than sex and we're sure that some of these straight guys realize this. There's probably a good number of guys who insist they are 100% straight and guard this label like a fortress. They probably have some anxiety that if they kiss another guy and get turned on then that their self-perception about that sexuality is not as iron clad as they like to believe. So they avoid kissing or they do it badly.

This leads us back to another reason why we like Sean Cody. The site makes an effort to avoid these non-kissers and trends towards guys who are far more open to "experimentation" when it comes to pairing them up. It's probably not as easy as it sounds (the behind the scenes videos give us a clue) but the results are almost always "satisfying."

I don't like haterosexual males. They are oppressors and wimps. It's disgusting some of them are in gay porn. I LOVE gay men. Gay men want the adventure, they want the passion. Gay men appreciate a man's body and what a man does to build that body to please his mate.
