Mark Dalton To Be Set Free
We've just learned that adult star Mark Dalton is getting released from a Texas prison this February, according to published reports this past week. The Texas parole board has approved an early February 16 release for the blond, muscular star whose legal name is Jeramy James Sons. He's reportedly going to return to his hometown in Texas after his release and does not plan on making any appearances on stage or in video.
It's been a long, troubled road for the popular adult star dating back to 2002. That's when he was arrested on drug charges and received probation. However a assault charge in 2004 resulted in the revoking of his probation and a stint in the county jail. Following his parole in late 2005, he made Mark Meets Zeb: The Texas Two-Step for Zeb Atlas Productions and which was released in 2007. However in the early summer of that year Mark Dalton was again arrested on domestic violence charges (for which he pleaded guilty) and he wound up getting a four-year term. Last year his request for early release was denied so when he is does get out this February he will have served a year and a half in jail.
We have somewhat mixed feelings about this news as we're sure many of you do. Mark Dalton was indeed luscious to look at although his strict "look but don't touch" gay for pay persona was a real turn-off. Maybe had he not gotten into trouble his bud Zeb Atlas would have been able to get him to do something more like he did. Naturally we don't know Mark Dalton personally to make any further assumptions about his character, but we believe that justice should be served for crimes committed, no matter who one is. From our idealistic point of view we hope that his stint behind bars has helped him learn a harsh lesson that he won't soon forget. We'd like to see this story have a happy ending.
This story is certainly a bit more uplifting than some of the other crime-related porn star stories we've run across the last year or so. Nickolay Petrov is awaiting sentencing for his attempted murder charges after pleading guilty. Jack Venice was sentenced to life for sexual assault. Harlow Cuadra and Joseph Kerekes are awaiting trial for the murder of Cobra Video's Bryan Kocis. All these news stories are pretty sordid and disturbing and not the kind of publicity the adult industry likes to see.
