Before we finish our review of 2008 we want to take this time to remember those in the gay adult industry who passed away during the course of the year. In the sentiment of last year we choose not to dwell on the circumstances of their passings but on how their work will be remembered, the lives they touched , and their friends and loved ones who are now deprived of their presence.
Jean-Daniel Cadinot. This legendary French photographer and director turned out over 60 films in his long career, all with an emphasis on plot, characterization and overall realism. Sometimes based on his own experiences as a young man, Cadinot films were known for their emphasis on youthful male beauty and his influence in gay adult films can be seen everywhere.
Mark West. During the 1990s Mark West was in a handful of films and for Falcon and Catalina and will he made a vivid impression he never considered himself a star. He had been retired from films for over 10 years and was on vacation with his partner in Hawaii when he died from an accidental drowning.
Eric Lamar Turner. Turner was a CocoDorm performer whose short-lived career ended when he died in a car accident this past summer. He was only 23.
Cole Ryder. The handsome, muscular and hairy-chested performer was only 36 when he died of a heart-related ailment. He was also very well-liked in the industry and by fans who all had nothing but kind things to say about him.
Franco Santoro. Spanish Studio 2000 performer who appeared in over a half-dozen films through 2006.
