Falcon's Haunted Asylum

Falcon recently finished production on Asylum, the upcoming flick which was shot in a former mental hospital in Los Angeles and featuring Erik Rhodes, Leo Giamani, Ty Colt, Diesel Washington, TJ Hawke, Rod Daily, Dominic Pacifico, and Ryan Raz. The last time we wrote about this film (see Falcon Drama) the casting choices and the off-camera drama were definitely newsworthy as well as blogworthy. In the last few days we've become more fascinated with the title star of Asylum, the reportedly haunted Linda Vista Hospital.
Linda Vista Hospital is located in the Boyle Heights neighborhood near downtown Los Angeles and has become something of a local legend. Originally it was known as the Santa Fe Coast Lines Hospital, built in 1904 as a hospital for railroad employees. It was reconstructed in 1924 and was it use up until 1990. After that it became a movie & TV film location and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in January 2006. That's the factual account of the facility.
Ghosthunters and paranormal enthusiasts have held that the place is definitely haunted and have reported all sorts of strange occurrences. They include the sighting of a figure in doctor's garb, a mental patient, sounds of a little girl laughing, strange lights, cold spots and other sounds and noises some of which are heard only from inside. People who have visited have reported that much of the facility was left as is, as were the medical supplies, cages, beds, furniture, etc--all left untouched since the day it closed. There have been lots of creepy pics posted on the web of the hospital's interiors but apparently the public and paranormalists haven't been allowed in the facility in recent years and this has only added to the fascination with the building--including that of Asylum director John Bruno. He's reportedly been interested in this location for awhile and he finally got his wish to film there.
It was reported elsewhere that the main building was going to be converted into loft-style apartments but it's unclear now as to whether those plans are going to go through considering the spooky reputation of the location. It appears that under the new management of the building it's been cleaned up and restored--at least as far as several main rooms are concerned including the day room, the main lobby, and the morgue.
The morgue itself apparently is going to be featured in one of Asylum's sex scenes..no jokes please.
