Kathy Griffin: A-List Show

It's a busy week for us here at Jack Manly besides the usual stuff, but part of it entailed getting to see the opening night of Kathy Griffin's "Let's F Up The Holidays!" series of shows at the Kodak Theater. It's amazing to think that just a few years ago Kathy was doing comedy clubs and now she's doing huge venues AND selling them out. In fact the newest run of shows sold out so fast that they added at least one more night! And what a show it was. If you have the chance to see Kathy Griffin here in LA or any other performance in the near future at your own local theater you MUST go.

First, the show features all new material which was brilliant---as it always is. We can't spoil it for you but Kathy included bits on Sarah Palin, Proposition 8, Alec Baldwin, The Emmys, The Grammys,  her mom, Rosie O'Donnell, Cher, Bette Midler, Don Rickles, Britney, and  so on. Speaking of the Grammys isn't it awesome that her ploy worked? Yes, Kathy Griffin is nominated! That was just one of many delights in the show. And as always Kathy Griffin gave a shout-out to her most supportive fans--"the gays". Even though Kathy has stated she's not too keen on marriage in general, she voted against Prop 8 and she got her mom to vote against it too (as well as voting for Obama!) Yes, the show was fantastic and it's not to be missed.

Finally, on the subject of Proposition 8 we hope you all caught Jon Stewart the other night where he debated Mike Huckabee on the issue of gay marriage. You can go to the Comedy Central website and see the show online, but Stewart did an excellent job of showing the illogical religious arguments against gay marriage. With people like Brad Pitt, Jon Stewart, Kathy Griffin, etc giving our cause the attention it deserves, we feel very hopeful about what's ahead.
