XBIZ Awards Nominees

Even though the year isn't up yet we have another set of awards nominations to tell you about. XBIZ has announced the nominations for its 7th Annual Awards which will be held on February 12, 2009 at Boulevard 3 in LA. As you might recall the awards honor both straight and GLBT companies and many of what might be considered "technical" award. With that in mind we're listing the GLBT nominees of interest to fans.

GLBT Web Company of the Year
Bel Ami, Channel 1 Releasing, Corbin Fisher, CyberSocket, GayDatingCash.com, Grooby Productions, IntenseCash, Maleflixxx, NakedSword, Pistol Media.

We found it very gratifying that Corbin Fisher was being honored here not necessarily for its excellent content but as a company. In case you didn't here about this, Corbin Fisher announced recently (see Corbin Fisher Takers Care Of Its Own) that it was offering health benefits, 401k plans, and more to their exclusive performers. That moved deserved recognition and were glad to see the site getting it.

  GLBT Studio of the Year:

Bel Ami, Black Scorpion Entertainment, Channel 1 Releasing, Citebeur, Collin O'Neal Productions, Colt Studio , Dark Alley Media, Dirty Bird Pictures, Falcon Studios, Hot House Entertainment, Jet Set Productions, Lucas Entertainment, Raging Stallion Studios, Sarava Productions (Kristen Bjorn), Titan Media.

It's like comparing apples & oranges! What criteria could be used to vote?

 GLBT Director of the Year:

Denis Bell, Kristen Bjorn, Jett Blakk, John Bruno, Tony DiMarco, Joe Gage, Lucas Kazan, Chi Chi LaRue, Ben Leon, Michael Lucas, Brian Mills, Steven Scarborough, Chris Steele, Marty Stevens, Chris Ward.

Congrats to Jett Blakk for his nomination as director and for his movie Mug Shots. We had the honor of interviewing him for the site and we've been in touch since. By the way, we have a surprise for blog readers that's coming up coon.

 GLBT Performer of the Year:

Jason Crew, Damien Crosse, Steve Cruz, RJ Danvers, D.O. , Johnny Hazzard, Wolf Hudson, Erik Rhodes, Blake Riley, Jesse Santana, Tyler Saint, Max Schutler, Ricky Sinz, Kurt Wild, Jackson Wild.

Again, a fascinating assortment of nominees. Naturally we have our faves and yet we are perplexed by the omissions like Aaron James, Logan McCree, Dean Flynn, and others. We really won't get into the inclusions although there are a couple that did not impress us this year.
