One Day Left...

Okay, people. There's one day left. We know that there are many of you who have voted early and those who will vote on Tuesday regardless of whether we or anyone else has urged you to do so.  But at this stage, this message goes out to you who remain undecided or ambivalent.

We know you've been told over and over that this is a crucial election and yet you're a little weary.

You're tired of the campaigning, the ads, and all the issues that you hear in every election cycle.

You may still remain unconvinced that there will be any change in the way government works or that you'll see any improvement in your life.

Even if there was such a possibility that things would be different, you may not think your vote matters.

Now, think back to Florida 2000. Ohio 2004. What would our lives be like now if more people had decided that their votes DID make a difference. Can you honestly believe that things would be the same right now?

In all honesty do you think four or more years of a President John McCain is going to be mean change?

Wouldn't you prefer to be a part of history instead of sitting on the sidelines? Surely even the most cynical among you sense that something quite extraordinary is about to happen.  It's one thing to say you were alive when it happened. It's another thing entirely to be able to say you were a part of it.

 For Californians:

The Proposition 8 polls are SO close right now that you can make a difference here too. It's not enough to vote No on Proposition 8. You need to make sure that you get some fence-sitters to vote no too. Straight friends. Family. Even those you hardly know. This is important to us in the LGBT community no matter if we have someone to marry or not. It won't mean the end of the culture war but it will mean we won this battle. Any and every victory is important.
