News Round-Up
We start off the month of October with another round-up of news from the world of male erotica (or porn for you purists out there). If it seems like we just did a round-up, you're right. We'll be doing this more often just to keep pace with all the stuff that's going on this fall--and it looks like it's going to be a busy season.
First, a correction or clarification. As we mentioned before, the production of Mustang's Blue Movie was halted when the police raided the LA warehouse where a hardcore scene was being shot. At the time we heard that the film was going to finish up in SF. From what we've read, this took place during the movie's final days of production and the scene WAS finished in LA after all. The wrap part was held at Eleven, a trendy Weho nightspot. Aside from the production shutdown word is that it was a great shoot and a lot of the guys think it's going to be a winner. One of the stars of the film is newcomer Colton Steele and the word is that he impressed a lot of people in the industry.

Last weekend was the 25th annual Folsom Street Fair and from what we've heard and read it was a lot of fun and star-studded success---you just gotta love the porn stars who keep us informed through their blogs! There have been those who've complained that the event has become too commercialized in recent years (and they have been turning to the Dory Alley Street Fair for "authenticity"). However, you won't see the city of SF or the studios complaining---the turnout has helped their respective economies flourish.
As for the buzz we picked up from the street fair here's just a sample:
-- At the Raging Stallion party they crowned their "Man of the Year" who to no one's surprise was Ricky Sinz. Naturally everyone is talking about his upcoming performance in To The Last Man.
--During the fair and after there's been lots of talk about the new Raging Stallion DVD (it's a two-disc set) The Drifter. This has been touted as the debut of Manuel De Boxer who became a star (and still performs) at Maskurbate as Dereck. But wasn't generally known is that this film was written by Logan McCree and that it's based on his own experiences. And as part of the autobiographical nature of the story, the role of McCree's romantic interest is his real-life bf Vinnie D'Angelo!

Michael Lucas hasn't been deterred at all from the negative criticism concerning his new "Raunch" line of films. He issued a press release that claims that the publicity he received has boosted the pre-orders on the first film in the series. In fact it's out-performing his award-winning La Dolce Vita.

On October 8 porn stars (and real-life partners) Damien Crosse and Francesco D’Macho will be officially launching their joint venture, Madrid-based Stag Homme Studios. At the site there's a teaser for While the City Watches, their first film together for the company. Stag Homme Studios will also feature videos featuring the guys and other models from Europe. The video content will range from unscripted to fantasy plots, with a bit of gonzo filmmmaking thrown in. There will also be recurring features called “StagTV” and “Coffee with the Stars.”

In other new site news, we were just informed that Brash Boys has launched. Featuring an international assortment of studly guys, it's an apologetically hardcore site that we just took a look at and we'll review at a future date.

Some are brand new, others are sites that have gone through a few changes since we first noticed them and are in need of some revised reviews. Because we want to bring these sites to your attention as soon as possible, this week we'll be listing them all here with a capsule review that should give you a good idea of what these sites are all about.
