Falcon Gets Massive

In a move that sounds like the daily financial reports on cable TV, it was announced that
Falcon Studios has bought Massive Studio. the indie adult studio that recently became an online video site. As part of the takeover, Falcon has the multi-film Massive Studio catalog and the website will now be part of the growing Falcon empire. Founded by John Bruno, Massive Studio is a company and a brand that Falcon felt would be a perfect fit with its other lines and websites.

Apparently the deal was in the works because the
Massive Studio website has already been revamped and relaunched---and not so coincidentally on Folsom Street Fair weekend. In fact Falcon will have a Mustang-Massive booth at the fair. It certainly would explain Massive Studio performer Zak Spears appearing in the upcoming Mustang flick Blue Movie (a film which also made the news this week--see below)

From the reports we've read, this acquisition seems all very amicable and should be good just about for everyone concerned. Bruno will still be involved and from the way he spoke it sounds like he'll be continuing to be a creative force at
Massive Studio. He expressed as desire to return to his Hard Cops and Hard Mechanics series and the company will be going ahead with the October release of Men of Massive, a DVD compilation of some of website's hot online videos. Thankfully Massive Studio will still be producing new exclusive videos for the site (also to be compiled later).

We took a look at the newly designed site and it has the same clean design aesthetic and layout as
Falcon Str8 Men. It's very nice-looking although regular members might be a little confused by the order of the videos. With other big studios acquiring smaller niche studios like this it seems that the days of indie porn studios are numbered. We can only guess who's next.

As for the Blue Movie news we mentioned above, it seems that there was a little trouble on the set of this upcoming Mustang flick. No it's not a conflict with the actors, but a production problem--thanks to the LAPD! As we told you before director Steve Cruz wanted to make Blue Movie as a retro flick, an homage to the porn of the 70's. Little did he know he'd also be getting the same police harassment of that era. It was reported that the LAPD Vice Squad raided the warehouse where the film was in production after some "anonymous" tip led the police there. Apparently the cops knew what company was involved and who Cruz was when asking fore film permits which led the crew to believe that this wasn't so anonymous after all.  Even though the production had to completely shut down at some cost, it will start up again-but not in LA. It will resume in SF.
