From Porn To Modeling

Can a good-looking porn actor switch it up and make it in the world of modeling? The answer to this question used to be an emphatic NO. Doing porn or male erotica was universally considered to be a career killer. Yes, it's true that there have already been a few exceptions to the rule in straight & gay cases over the years but we're sure that these successful people could tell you that it wasn't achieved without lots of hard work and support. That said, there are those who are still trying to buck the system. During the past week we've seen instances and read some items where guys are still trying to fight this system. Whether they are successful at this remains to be seen but it gives us the opportunity to update other stories too.
As you read already Raging Stallion exclusive RJ Danvers was made a notable attempt to break into modeling with the Ford Models online talent search (see "RJ Danvers: Ford Model ??) and he was doing very well in the online voting totals. Then out of nowhere the voting totals changed and someone else rocketed ahead. When all was said and done the tallies were ignored and a model was picked. But RJ almost made it.
Then there's one of our personal favorites Aaron Savvy who was a popular star at Sean Cody as Ajay before turning his attention to fitness training, modeling, and acting. As you know we've interviewed him and he's been very gracious to keep us posted on his progress. Recently he informed us that he's also a contestant in an online contest Men Without Shirts: The Most Desirable Man In The World. The top fifty vote-getters will participate in a "pageant" to be held in San Francisco in November. After a slow start we're happy to report that Aaron cracked the top 50 & is #39 as of this writing. This past week the new season of Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency started and one of her new models is Martin, who is openly gay, deaf, AND has a porn past. He was known as Pauly at Cruiser Boys. If you think this is going to be some scandalous sub-plot on the show, think again. Last year Rodrigo De Carli was one of Janice's models (part of her new Latin devision) and the blogs were all about the fact he had done gay porn as Claudio Martin. Since then he's gone back to the biz but at the time of the show everyone was wondering how Janice would react if she knew. Well in a recent interview we found out.
Janice Dickinson appeared in HX Magazine and was asked about Rodrigo's "other" career", Her answer?Inside the mag, editor Brandon Voss asks the question we all want to know about. What does Janice think of Rodrigo De Carli’s gay porn past?
" .. I don’t have a problem with gay porn. What’s wrong with gay porn? It allows people to encapsulate what their fantasies are. Is that so bad? I think Rodrigo had other issues that were far too severe, which is the reason he’s not with the agency anymore; I’m not going to go into depth about it, but he knows what they are. As far as him having a colorful past? Look, as long as you don’t sodomize children, this is the United States of America—the Fifth Amendment, Larry Flynt, yes! I see nothing wrong with gay porn."
All we can say is AWESOME! By the way the gay couple from last season is also no longer with the agency and there may be more models coming along (if we read correctly at the website)

Benjamin Bradley on the other hand is getting back into the porn biz. He was one of the Ginch Gonch Underwear models but the company has filed for bankruptcy so it's back to porn for Bradley (at Channel 1 Releasing). Benjamin Bradley's love life hasn't exactly been a private affair. He was involved with Roman Heart, then was coupled with Ethan Reynolds. With Reynolds they had their own website and modeled as a couple for Ginch Gonch. Then their break-up played out online and Bradley went back to Roman Heart. They announced their engagement and on his MySpace page Benjamin Bradley does list his status as "in a relationship" so we assume it's still on. Benjamin Bradley's going back to work on a new film any day now.
We've been mentioning Jakub Stefano a great deal lately and we're doing it again because he's been making a big push to be a model too. As you've seen in our blog entries he's going full force and dipping his toes in as many pools as he can. You can see the "most" of him at Male Perfection and he has done a couple videos (and pics) for All-American Guys.
Then there's Levi Poulter who has managed to have it both ways. He's appeared in print ads (including A + F) in magazines and catalogs and been featured in DNA as well as [2]. He's done adult stuff too including a much talked about scene with Christopher Spicer/Hunter at the now-defunct ByGone Boys. This video (along with others) is featured here along with many others (over 30) at Miami Levi his own website. Yes, he doesn't shy away from it at all.
So, in general we can't come to any conclusions about the porn/model thing. It seems that there isn't a hard and fast rule as it stands but we'll see if this is indeed a trend.
