Fresh Men
For the love of Dylan McLovin
There's really no further need for us to point out or comment on the influence of online video websites on the world of male erotica because it's there for everyone to see. You can see it in the casting choices of a growing number of studio productions. You can see it in the blogs where the discussions are increasingly concerned with what's going on at these sites and the new performers that they are producing. And you can see it in the print media, on the covers and interiors of magazines like Freshmen Magazine and Men Magazine.
This year alone so far Freshmen & Men have had over a dozen covers and featuring male performers who have either started out or became stars at online video sites. There have also been over 15 performers featured inside these magazine that in the majority of cases you'll probably only see them exclusively at online video sites. We're not even through with 2008 and it's even more astounding to consider that for the whole year of 2007 the numbers were less than half of those mentioned above. In 2006, there were only two guys. So we can only imagine what 2009 will look like.
In the current issue of Freshmen there are again two models that come from online video sites but the subtle irony is that these two guys are relative newcomers who will be probably be as unfamiliar to internet browsers as they are to those who don't even visit these sites.

Ethan Parker
The cover and main photo spread features Dylan McLovin, a Canadian whose sexy muscle jock body and cutely handsome face more than make up for his questionable choice of stage names. So far his only work that we know of has been at Next Door Studios where he's appeared at all the main sites: Next Door Male, Next Door Buddies, Next Door Hook-Ups, Tommy D XXX, & Cody Cummings. It's probably not much of a coincidence that two of the last three previous issues of Freshmen also featured Next Door Studios players Marcus Mojo (again with the nutty names!) and Phoenix (although he now goes by Mario Cazzo). Dylan has been an interesting one to follow since he is bisexual but certainly appears to be more willing to be versatile.
Also inside the current issue is Ethan Parker from the ever-popular Randy Blue. Parker has been right there at the cusp of being a breakout performer at Randy Blue but it's interesting that he hasn't quite gotten the buzz of other newcomers. Nevertheless he's followed his solo debut with three other videos: Ethan & Hunter, Ethan & Lucas & Brent, Ethan & Xander. Who knows, this spread may be a ticket to creating that buzz.
Next time out we'll be taking a look at a studio production that features no less than six performers that have appeared at at least six websites. We're talking about the upcoming Jet Set Men production Muscle Mountain.

Is it possible to love Dylan McLovin while hating his name? I mean, seriously. Superbad was a funny movie, but stealing a name from it is a bit of a bone-killer. Well, with a guy as hot as Dylan, maybe not a TOTAL bone-killer.
Interesting how the magazines are leaning so heavily from material from websites. I hope this helps to keep porn on the printed page alive for many more years.
